[When Kanda finally wakes from Dressing Room limbo, he's back in a sitting room he had been digging around in prior. He comes to slowly before jolting to awareness, checking himself over as well as he can. No claws, no marks, no irregular joints. He was human again.

[She's sitting on a bench further down the hall, looking down at the ground unfocussedly. Her hair and clothes are a little unkempt compared to usual, and she just can't manage to smile. Searching for Kanda around this area hasn't met with any luck so far.]

[regeneratory]

[He stops when he sees her after turning around a corner. Hesitates, unsure how to approach her, before slowly walking her way.]

Alma.

[not_the_spirit]

[She goes quite still for a second, then sharply looks up, smiling.]

Yuu!

[But when she actually sees him and that he's back to normal, her eyes well nigh pop out of her head in surprise.]

[Her surprise goes completely unheeded. He just sees her and her smile and he picks up speed, stumbling to a halt against the bench as he reaches to wrap his arms around her and hold her tight.

He's relieved to be able to do this now without fighting off every urge to kill her.]

[After the past few weeks, this doesn't seem entirely real. She clings to him delightedly, even laughing a bit in relief.]

You're really - you're all right again!

[regeneratory]

Yeah--I'm all right. [As all right as he can be after that, anyway. He's physically all right and that's enough for now. Tucks his face against her.]

[She closes her eyes and keeps holding him tight, as if he might disappear if she let go.]

I wanted to see you. I shouldn't have gone and left you on your own the way I did...I'm so sorry, Yuu.

[regeneratory]

[Shakes his head.] You shouldn't have been near me. I could have hurt you.

[He almost did.]

[Her smile twists for a second.] I know. Akuma are...that way. But if you hadn't been turned back, I - how did you get turned back?

[regeneratory]

... I was exorcised. [Tilts his head slightly to look at her.] It wasn't too long after you saw me.

[not_the_spirit]

...Then...that's why I couldn't find you. You were...dead?

[She looks up at him, expression taut and verging on horrified. An Akuma getting exorcised, and a human being restored as the result: it should be a happy story.]

[Sits up so that he can pull her against him, moving a hand to stroke her hair in comfort. It's not the nicest thing to hear but it's okay, it's better than the alternative.]

I wanted him to do it. I didn't want to stay like that.

You couldn't have lived that way, Yuu. You couldn't. S-since you're better now, it must have been the best thing to do. [She smiles, though she's still not happy about what happened.] But are you okay? Really?

[regeneratory]

[He feels guilty for both Alma and Lenalee, and he's kind of shaken up from it.

But he just nods.] I'm fine.

[not_the_spirit]

[Smiles, and moves her hand to touch his face, where the Akuma markings were before.] Hah. That was a silly question, wasn't it?...I can't expect you to be fine. But you will be.

[regeneratory]

[... Well that didn't work. Looks down and tilts his head towards her hand before pressing his forehead to hers.]
