[Its been quite awhile since Miranda has made anything complicated in the kitchen and was in a bright enough mood to try something new. She wanted to try making tarts, she's always wanted to try making tarts... But apparently it was a little tougher than she had first thought

[Don't mind Link. He's just idling somewhere behind her, watching as she stares into the stove.]

Miss Lotto, I do believe it will not go anywhere. You may take your eyes off of it for now.

I messed up the last two times because I wasn't watching. I'm not taking my eyes of them this time.

[He motions to the nearest one, willing to go get it if she likes the idea.]

[She can see straight into the oven at this angle... She probably has one of those oven tans by now as well.]

Forgive my curiosity, but what are you baking?

Lemon tarts this time. The custard and butter tarts didn't turn out right.

[Points to the recipe book on the counter.]

[He'll just draw it closer and skim the recipes.]

I'm certain these will turn out just fine, Miss Lotto. What happened to the last batch of tarts?

Burnt the first and the butter tarts... They just didn't come out right... I have no idea what I did wrong...

It does take a certain finesse.

[Soon her egg timer goes off and she has oven mits on within a blink of an eye! She carefully opens the oven and takes out the tray of tarts. The topping has to be made separately so she just sets these down to cool for now... But first... She has to stare at them... judge them... They look perfect.]

[Staring as well. They really did turn out nicely.]

Well done. I would offer my assistance but you seem determined to succeed on your own. May I keep you company and watch?

[Alright, tart bottoms go in the fridge to chill now, while Miranda gets that whipped topping made... Surprisingly she takes the mixing bowl and whisk out from the freezer to begin mixing the whipped cream and powdered sugar.]

[It's nice to see her so happy. He'll take a seat near the counter somewhere out of the way.]

I have yet to see you do anything wrong, but I will be certain to let you know.

[Seeing how she's taken the bowl from the freezer, Link assumes she's been waiting to get to this point for some time now.]

[It takes her no time at all to make the topping... The only problem is the bottoms have to chill for an hour... And she just put them in.]

Oh um... Seems we have a little time... W-Would you like some tea?...

[Poor Miranda. Eventually, she'll have her tarts. Link hopes, anyway.]

[Thank you future technology~ Pouring water into a kettle and pressing a single button to make it boil is very convenient indeed.]
