[There's a small balloon tied just outside the entrance to a courtyard, one of the summer ones and a small one at that. It's night outside but the area is lit with more than a few tiki torches so that it almost resembles a late afternoon glow

[He's actually drawn to the noise, moreso than to the smells. So, have a curious (younger!) Aiden lingering by the door, and watching.]

[Seren lets out a squeal as Zane starts to lick at her face and Ehan pushes off of the wall with another soft chuckle.] Come on now, Zane. It's not fair to her if you do that.

[He picks the puppy up off and sets him back down a small distance away, then helps Seren sit back up.]

They're so cute !

[He crouches down a bit to get a better look at the puppy - knows better than to pay too much attention to another man's kid, even if she is adorable. What are his chances of the puppy bounding toward him?]

[Zane does because new person get! Letting out a happy little bark and wagging his tail enthusiastically as he tries to lick at Lavi's hand.]

Zane! Get back here you pu-- [Looking now at who Zane went to meet and just sort of. Pauses. Everything pauses. There's the familiar noise of recognition but oddly that's as far as it goes. There's no relief at seeing him again, or pain, or anger.]

Maybe sometime in the future?

[The good thing is that he's far too distracted by the dog to really hear how everything stops. Rather likes animals, really. He does let the dog lick at his hand before gently scooping him up.]

Should take ya back to yer owner, yeah? [And he offers Chase a smile.] I got 'im~

Dunno, more of a cat person, honestly.

[Giving him a carefully blank look, but not too blank. Perhaps the semi-interested one that a teacher might give. Odd to see both eyes looking back at you, isn't it?]

[Has been given no word that the vampire was back. None at all.]

[It is, but only because, as far as he was concerned, most Lavis were missing their right eyes. He tilts his head, finally catching on to the forced calm that Ehan's got going on. Weird.]

Shepherd's are usually easy ta train. You'll have him sittin', heelin', and playin' dead in no time.

[To be fair, he has no idea who anyone is but Hobollen anymore.]

[In time the forced will be easier but for now it's easier for Ehan to remind himself to be this way. Make sure he stays that way.]

I'd like to let him have his childhood a bit longer before I train him. Besides, she likes him running free right now.

I know, used to have one when I was younger. Some things are just harder to let go of. [Looking down at Seren, picking her back up. The DR has pretty much locked away memories of Aiden so she won't miss him.

Yeah, his name is Zane. [The puppy lingers a moment longer, sniffing at his pants and then scampers back over to Ehan.]

Too little to really appreciate them yet.
