[Tonight was promising to be a quiet night in the dressing room. The Tykis may be lounging in the miscellaneous bars and pubs, and the Allens are probably curled up in piles of blankets. Who knows where the Crosses are, but that's nothing new. And Lavis? Well... they're probably head-first in a book, drooling and getting ink on themselves. Yes, ( Read more... )

[this dream takes place in a store.

it's the sort of store that sells baby items, only it's obviously being dreamed by someone who's never been inside that kind of store and doesn't know what they're like; everyone in it is a woman and pregnant, or is carrying a baby, and the store is comically huge, filled with normal baby things like diapers and strollers but then other things which are just smaller versions of household items, like a barbecue grill standing two feet tall.

Devit looks a little lost. he also has a list.]

[The dream - world? - gives a vicious lurch, enough to send a couple of teddy bears and women into the floor. Someone is most displeased with this dream. Or, perhaps, displeased with the dreamer himself.]

[From somewhere in the distance, there's the sound of a shaking rattle.]

[pauses, but whatever just struck him slips away, and he turns toward the sound, as if nothing unusual just happened]

[The rattling continues, except the sound itself seems to be moving. Whatever it is, it's hidden behind a shelf of weird-looking stuffed rabbits. There's the sound of a woman's scream, before she comes running into view, looking panicked.]

[oooookay. ignoring her--who cares--and heading for the shelf]

[He can try to ignore her all he wants. She screams at him to "Run!" before barreling out of view.]

[The rattling continues, moving from one end of the shelf to the other. Going to take a peek on the other side?]

[It is an enormous snake. A rattlesnake? Except, rattlesnakes don't have cobra hoods. At any rate, whatever type of snake it is, it's bigger than a python, and probably twice as angry.]

[The thing lifts its head, hood fanning out, and lets out a loud rattle and a hiss.]

Holy shit--

[IMPRESSED, backing up a little out of self-preservation, but not really scared per se; IT'S SO COOL]

[Except, it's probably not a great idea to back up that far. There's another snake/rattler/python behind Devit, now, and it hisses angrily as it is disturbed.]

Ah...what are you looking for here? This place is strange.

Eh, you?

[hands her the list: diapers, blankets, bottles, milk, baby food, hot water, toys, puppy

he grabs a cart and starts walking down an aisle; the cart already has a few items in it, including milk (a regular carton of milk, not formula), and baby food (which is in a can like cat food).]

It's mostly chicks here, but not anymore!

[...Not wincing at that. Really. She follows down the aisle, since she doesn't recognise anyone else in the shop.]

You're shopping for a baby? I didn't know there were baby Noahs.

I didn't know there were baby Noahs either! But there are! Lots of them . . . so I gave Jasdero one. A baby.
