And the painting? It's a painting of Bookman dancing in a field of flowers.

[BELIEVE IT OR NOT, the old man in the painting is actually kind of familiar to Allen. This is the first time he's seen him "here" but he's seen the guy in the lounges back home before. A well-to-do patron and music lover.

I didn't want to study languages anymore so I took a walk. [Looking back at it, picking up the paint strokes.]

I probably would have picked them up in my travels at home but this is nicer.
