[Tis the season for laziness, although that's nothing new for most Tykis. After a long night of drinking and pacing, Tyki has found himself a nice spot to rest and doze a little. And that spot happens to be right in the way of where miss Eaze is decorating. So Tyki's become another spot for that pretty tinsel to hang

[Crap. This isn't exactly how he planned to look when he saw Cross next. He doesn't even open his eyes when he speaks, just staying still and letting Eaze decorate him.]

...Sadly no. I'm the skinny one that gets left on the lot.

You're also leaning a bit too much to the side. You'd be more attractive if you perked up a little.

[Blinks, then grins. He hadn't even realize that he was leaning at all.] I'd right myself, but then I'd mess up all of her hard work.

I suppose so. Wouldn't want that, hmm.

No, we wouldn't. Besides, the homely tree has a purpose at least. Even if it leans too much and is unattractive. It's free firewood, if nothing else. And who doesn't want a warm fire at Christmas time?

... I don't know about that. Seems like a little bit of a waste, if you ask me, considering the tree would be just fine with a little fixing up.

Also pine fires make everything else smell like pine fires.

What if the tree needs more than just a little fixing up? It's not always worth the effort. But still, a little effort does go a long way with time.

Nothing wrong with that smell.

You never know if it's worth it until you try, right?

I guess there's nothing wrong with the smell, but it sticks around for a while and at some point everything starts to taste like it, too.

True. But I'm just the tree. I can't decorate myself after all.

I don't know if I'd like my sandwiches tasting like burnt pine. Might not go well with the bologna.

So you're saying you need some help, hmm? ... Speaking of which, if you're sleeping out here, you still don't have a place to stay, do you?

No, probably not.

...Something like that. And I've still got the sitting room, I stay there when it's too cold or if I manage to find it in time for bed.

So I suppose you're right in the end.

... Well, if you want, you could come stay with me. You don't have to, of course, but it might be easier that way.

...You wouldn't mind? [He wonders if it's a good idea, though, considering how he feels. It might make things more awkward in the end. Especially since he's not aware that Cross knows.]

I wouldn't be offering if I did. ... I'd be able to keep a better eye on you, at least.
