[With everything seeming quiet and peaceful, Cyril slowly wakes up. At first, he doesn't know where he is, but then his vision clears, bit by bit, and he sits up. It's his own room, and he's lying on top of his bed, and there's nobody there but him ( Read more... )

[Someone's not so half-paralyzed anymore. And he was totally not lurking around vaguely hoping Cyril'd wake up some time soon.]

[And he sure as hell didn't order some Akuma to contact him when Cyril woke up or anything. So when he kind of appears in Cyril's path it is complete coincidence don't think otherwise.]

Well well, I suppose a 'Good Morning' is in order. [Can't bring himself to say welcome back.]

Good morning, Tyki! What a pleasant surprise this is. It's rare for you to come by here.

[He smiles cheerily at Tyki, although there's something lackluster about his tone, and a fraction less over-enthusiasm in his movements than usual.]

Is it? I must be lost. I was on my way to breakfast anyway--I don't suppose you've eaten yet?

[Which is as much of an invitation as he feels like offering. Unless Cyril's difficult. Can't let his brother know he actually cares, that'd be bad form.]

[He gives Tyki a strange look, briefly, before beaming at him.]

Oh, is that so? I haven't eaten a thing yet today.

[Matching the look with a complete blank face. All he wants is food, no ulterior motives here. Honest.]

Me neither. Starving, actually. [And he's going to start walking in a direction he hopes contains a kitchen or dining room with Akuma servants or something.]

Wonderful! Then we can eat together.

[He chuckles, and walks along too, making sure to match Tyki's stride. While they walk, he keeps looking around at the surroundings, as if there's something new about them.]

Today feels so very odd somehow. I can barely remember what happened yesterday at all.

[Tyki shrugs his acceptance of the idea of eating together, though his stride slows a little at Cyril's comment.]

...Funny thing about memory. They say it's the first to go.

[Which is just him avoiding saying anything.]

Really, now. I'm not so old that my memory's beginning to go. [he gives a sniff] ...You don't think so, do you?

Hard to say. What's the last thing you remember?

Do you know, I'm not sure. I thought that I ate a charming Halloween themed dinner and went for a stroll, but then...oh, it doesn't even bear thinking about. Just a silly nightmare. Perhaps I ate too much cheese last night and imagined it all.

What kind of nightmare?

[He digs out a cigarette as they walk.]

A horrible nightmare. It's an embarrassment to even dream something like that. Really, I should be ashamed.

[His hand does go to his throat for a moment.]

[He considers what to say. If Cyril really just thinks it was a nightmare, what's the harm in letting him continue that way? Probably a happier existence all told.]

Mm. Maybe your dinner was bad. Breakfast will set it right.

[He nods, perhaps relieved that Tyki didn't enquire further]

Good company and a good meal will surely set us right for the day! We should eat breakfast as a family more often, you know.

[Tyki's terribly bad at talking about things like that. Feelings get so awkward. And there's nothing more emotionally charged than the death of family at the hands of family.]

Let's not go that far.

But why not? Road would love to see everyone together too, I'm sure. Mm, perhaps not the entire family here, since it is so very large and unwieldy. We could even make it a tiny bit less elegant than usual, just to make certain members of the family more comfortable.
