[A scene from a few weeks ago is being repeated with a set of different players. Instead of Allen and Tim, it's Joyd and a Tease. Only this Tease doesn't seem to have a card suit on it or any kind of symbol actually.

He scowls at the thing and pokes at it once more, trying to get it to go away. Shoo!]

[Pauses in his poking to look at Atticus, the Tease taking the opportunity to land on his finger. Joyd looks back at it to shake the thing off, in his other hand he's got a crumpled bit of paper.]

Is that what it is called? [Using Joyd's distraction of signing to its advantage, the Tease alights on his head.]

It is. Why do you have one?

[Shrugs and holds out the paper? It's written in a language that he can't understand because Adam's a jerkface. /copies from another comment: The Tease is a golem that Adam designed to translate for Joyd, it's supposed to speak in his voice to irritate him. But somehow it picks up on his thoughts once it resonates with his mind.]

It just appeared. [Batting it off his head.]

[Takes it and reads it. He looks slightly amused by this before glancing at the Tease]

It's supposed to translate for you.

[He nods]

A man named Adam created it for you. [Leaving out the bit where it was supposed to irritate you.]

[Scowls and glances at it again. Well, that part...wasn't in the letter, mostly just what it was and what it does and how to use it.]

[Looks down at the paper]

[Lets out a soundless sigh.]

It has a function besides annoying me?

[Nods]

[mutedpleasure]

[Walks over and peers over Atticus' shoulder.] So what does it do?

[Tells him]

[Grumbling silently but letting the Tease do what it's programmed to do.

It settles on his head and makes the connection. In order for the Tease to work Joyd has to think his words at the Tease.]

Is it working? [Yes, that was Joyd's voice. He blinks in surprise.] Why does it have my voice?
