In my world, yes it does. [She studies the child before her expression softens a little. She reaches out with her right hand to let her finger be grabbed.] They're back in your world, probably. You could go home at any time this place decides, and so could the baby.

Why do you have a baby? I've never know you to be a commitment type.

Is that so? [The baby seems pleased with the attention, it's not crying quite so hard right now.]

I'm not the commitment type. I'm just holding onto her until I can pass her off to her new parents.

That's how it goes with most worlds. First comes sex, then the woman gets pregnant and gives birth nine months later.
