[There is a butterfly fluttering in lazy, drunken circles over the koi pond in one of the courtyards still convinced it isn't winter. It could be mistaken for a Tease if it wasn't white.]

[Tyki is sitting at the edge of the pond, relaxing with a cigarette and a bottle of vodka, directing the butterfly.]

Booze. Smokes. Relaxation. And dinner. My, my, you came prepared.

[Gives him a "You again?" look, but he's in a good mood, so he doesn't actually say it.]

It's more luck than preparation. I'm only glad this didn't change me into something else. [Takes a drink.]

[Kneeling at the edge of the pond, watching the koi. Old habits die hard. But he is tracking that white butterfly out of the corner of his eye.]

It has been rather kind about that lately. Not that people would complain.

[The koi are apparently used to people and unafraid. The butterfly is harmless for the moment; this guy was just entertaining himself. He has the butterfly follow one of the koi from above, though not very well.]

Of course they wouldn't, unless they're that bored. They would probably be the first ones changed in that case.

[He gets himself dinner then.]

Or maybe the ones that did already got changed into animals. This place has to get the food around here from somewhere.

[Poor fish. The others swim away in fright.]

[Raises an eyebrow.] I haven't heard anyone come back complaining they were lunch. You're going to eat right after that lovely thought?

[The koi is still squirming in his hands.]

Would you advertise that to people? [He shrugs.] It still tastes the same.

[Fish is wriggling and gasping for air.]

That someone ate me? I'd have a bone to pick with them, if that's what you mean. [Pause.] No pun intended. [Takes a drink, but shrugs.] If you say so. Can't imagine you would have much of a problem with most people being fish.

[Going to wait until it just runs out of air. Not going to try to eat it while squirming.]

And if they didn't know, how would you breach this subject? [He gives you a rather disgusted look. Because he put the two mentally together.] ... That may be one of the most disturbing things you have ever said.

[Good for the fish that it won't last long.]

Telling them would be a start. [He gives a low laugh at that look.] You brought it up. People being eaten, that is. And I doubt the list of disturbing things I've said is that long.

[And oh, once it is does squirming, he is going to eat it raw.]

And it would go something along the lines of. 'You know that lamb you had for supper two nights ago. That was me.' [Shakes his head.] List long or not, I never indicated you'd be the one eating people and not caring about it.

[But of course! It's dead soon.]

It might as well. How many ways are there to say something like that? [Smile.] Even so, you can be awful enough. Am I not allowed a moment now and then, especially when it's not as bad?

[He cheats by pulling out the bones without touching the skin of the fish.]

I'm not about to stop you from having as many moments as you want. [But oh, so changing the subject from eating people.] You let them out to play. Your Innocence that is.

[At least the fish doesn't care by then?]

How kind. [He certainly doesn't mind.] Thought I might as well. I was bored. [He creates a second butterfly and sends that over the water as well, but his control isn't very fine right now.]

[Not so much. But it is tasty.]

Not often, no. [Slips off his jacket and folds its beside him. Doesn't want to get fish guts on it while eating.] My, my, at least you can somewhat control it after tipping back a few. [He's watching it from a distance by the water's edge.] And white isn't all that bad of a color for it.

[Always a bright side.]

[Probably a good idea not to wear it then, yes.] Well, it's not that hard, controlling one or two. And really, any color is fine as long as it doesn't look like those Tease of yours. [He tries to have the butterflies circle each other, but they nearly run into each other, so he settles for having them fly around the edge of the pond near each other.]
