[ why he's choosing to actually go grocery shopping the day before Thanksgiving when the kitchens can provide you with just about anything you want is anyone's guess. Call it clinging to some semblance of normalcy. (Then again, how empty it is isn't exactly normal.)

As he goes over the produce picking out the carrots and the celery, he sing softly

[Suddenly beside her; still haven't lost that ninja ability yet!]

I knew you could sing.

[nightshined]

[ coming to a dead halt, she can't help but turn red, even as she tries to play it off. ]

What are you talking about?

[beautifulalias]

[Pouts playfully when she stops.] Nothing, nothing... Preparing for tomorrow's dinner?

[nightshined]

[ she nods. ] Yeah. Hey, you and John and your man are welcome to stop by if you want, too. Maybe they've even got some turkey-flavor baby food around here...

[beautifulalias]

[A laugh and shrug.] John will get his first taste of turkey next year. I think he's too young for that right now. Unless they have turkey flavored milk.

[Inspects a few carrots, turning them over in her hands.] Are you eating alone?

[nightshined]

Nope. Walker will be there too. And he'll probably eat the entire turkey if I don't stop him, too... [ she rolls her eyes, but she's smiling a little as she does so. ]

[beautifulalias]

You'll have to prepare for two Walkers then. [Watches her and that smile. She hears that tone, young lady.] How long have you known him?

[nightshined]

Oh joy. [ so totally thrilled. ] I'll have to grab another fifteen pounder then. But...hmm, I've known him for about nine months.

[beautifulalias]

Sounds long enough. Good friends? [Having grown up more in Europe and Asia preparing for a Thanksgiving dinner is more difficult than she imagined. That and Gramps never preferred her cooking much.]

[nightshined]

...good friends. Yeah. You could say that. [ there's that tone again, but with something a little more bittersweet. She looks back to the racks of produce and goes back to picking out vegetables. ]

[beautifulalias]

Could I? What else could you two be? [Watching her again and picking up that tone.] Tyki?

[nightshined]

More than friends, I guess... [ she sets the basket down on the ledge, balancing it carefully. ] It's a little confusing right now.

[beautifulalias]

[You have her full attention now.] How so?

[nightshined]

[ she sighs, relying on leaning on her basket a little more. ] It's hard to explain...do you know anything about the 14th?

[beautifulalias]

I do... He took over the Allen in my world.

[nightshined]

[ her voice drops down a few notches ] Yeah...it's something like that in my world too...

The other night, he came out, and...well. Mine thought it might be fun to... [ why is she having trouble saying it? She's never had problems like this before... ]
