[somebody's humming as he works away in the kitchen, putting the final touches on a simple, tastefully decorated cake - dark chocolate, with plain white frosting. He's finishing up the letters in dark-blue decorative icing that say 'Happy Birthday, Kanda!'; there's frosting all over his hands, smears of it partway up his arms, and a smudge (somehow) on the tip of his nose. But he looks quite content with his handiwork.]

Now I just have to wait for him to wake up... [yawns]
