I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want....

I booted up my game today for the first time in a while and actually went into the real legacy neighbourhood. Let me explain. I've been shooting all of the next update in the megahood, and I pretty much only have one scene left to shoot. However it is a big important pivotal scene and I'm having trouble shooting it without having written it first, because I can't do this without knowing exactly how my shots are going to go. I'm having a little trouble writting it though. I have a general idea of how I want it to go, but specific dialogue is turning out to be a little tougher than I thought is would be. So I'm procrastinating. Aaaaaanyway, I figured as long as I was procrastinating I might as well go and get the four or five slides I need from the main neighbourhood for the chapter opening. Which need to be shot in the legacy lot. So I played the lot through the night until sunrise and then realized that I had a problem, albeit a very minor one. The door of the house was wrong.

Proper door that is supposed to be in the house as seen behind Lil' Journey on his Birthday.

Non CC door it defaulted to here, seen in this very crappy shot.

Apparently I failed to transfer over the CC door I was using in the Legacy house and while that's not a huge deal, it's enough to annoy me if I were to shoot with the wrong door. And unfortunately the door can't be avoided in the shot as the little scene I need to open the chapter I'm going to shoot on the porch.

Anyway, since shooting that scene is not going to work out today apparently I thought I might as well share some other random picspam of the state my neighbourhood has been frozen in for the past 2 months since I last properly update.

It started off with me realizing just how proud I was of my little heiress. Through Fall and winter Dee actually rolled pretty consistent wants to skill, and then when you add the alien abduction on top of that, she's got quite a few scholarships in the bag.

However the lot recently rolling over to spring seems to have somewhat sidetracked Rhapsody, and she's gone all hopeless romantic on me the last little while.

So I decided to help her out and got the Gypsy matchmaker over, in spite of my feelings about this woman, since Rhapsody doesn't actually know any suitable boys who aren't on the family tree.

The Gypsy turned out to be just as useless a matchmaker as I remembered. First couple of tries she dropped off these two apparent twins, both of whom were bad matches for Dee and who she showed very little interest in.

On the third try she dropped off someone who actually was a very good match but who is also a very distant cousin and therefore off limits to Rhapsody. This is Briar Lawson, (Toulouse ->Lily->Daisy->Briar) and he's also a shy pleasure sim, with the LTW of 50 dream dates (which I have way too many of this generation) and he's actually distantly related enough that if Dee weren't heiress this wouldn't squick me out.

Anyway, I figured since I was going to show you guys Dee's want panel I might as well give you a tour of want panels as they currently stand in the neighbourhood for Generation 5, in case you were all curious and because they're all fairly typical of this lot at the moment (Dee's is actually the only one that's not a typical set of wants for her)

Journey's wants here. I let him sneak out the previous night with Elise and he rerolled it almost immediately, along with several other wants to sneak out as you can see, and sneaking out related fears (and one other quite intellegent fear, I wouldn't want to be enemies with Evil Susan either). This want panel probably gives you a pretty good idea of why Journey is written the way he is.

I popped over to Em's lot next and I thought I'd just put this up to show that while Dee is awesome at scholarships, so is Em. She's actually younger than Dee in gameplay and because she kept repeatedly rolling the want to skill she has managed to get 8 skill points in all the skills. And unlike Dee, she's done it without Eggplant juice. I don't really push my sims to skill unless the roll the want to, which is why the other cousins have considerably fewer skill points than the two girls here.

You'll notice that in spite of it being winter on her lot still, Em does not have one family related want in her panel at the moment. Which pretty much speaks volumes don't you think? (She also has one less want panel than everyone else because she didn't get to go on vacation.)

So while I was mucking about with Em I caught miss Aria doing this and what did I discover?

For Frak's sake woman! I know you did this on purpose.

Unfortunately, while usually I'm ok at rolling with the punches in the game I couldn't justify Aria having another baby in the story, so she had to lose it. I felt guilty about this, but I really couldn't let her keep it at this point.

She quickly returned to looking evil.

Moving on to someone who actually knows how to not loathe everyone he knows. Quite the opposite in fact. Turner's been rolling a want for a puppy every since I installed pets. Which si pretty darn cute if you ask me. But since he's already been Permaplat for ages, I don't think he'll be getting a puppy any time soon, unfortunately.

Cayenne is pretty much your typical ADD pleasure sim, what can I say. They're still in winter at their lot, so I don't know what I'll get in terms offlirty wants from her when they roll into spring, but at the moment she's all about having fun.

And the smallest one, is a kid, what can more can I say :)

Phoenix, pretty well rounded popularity sim as they go actually, in spite of not having a secondary aspiration.

And Elise seems to have completely forgotten her primary aspiration. I swear you'd never know this girl was a pleasure sim if it weren't for the LTW, she rolls up more knowledge sim wants than anything. I thought the "Being saved from death" one was particularly ironic. That's actually one that Dee rolls up ALOT too.

And that has been our brief tour of the want panels of this generation's teens. Now that I'm done with that procrastination, I suppose I'll go write some more while waiting for it to be time to go to driving school.
