You already know this, but I like it a lot! The present tense can be hard to do, but it works well here. As I said in my comments, I think that it makes the different time frames more cohesive, which reflects the last gift of the Pensieved memories. Does that make sense? I'm trying to say that I think his gift of memories, or in other words keeping them present and important to him and Ginny, is well-reflected by the use of the present tense in the flashbacks to other anniversaries.

I don't know if I make sense, but regardless the fic is very good!

Thank you! =)

I chose to do present tense with the memories as a more vivid "re-living the past" type thing. I've always imagined that people looking at memories in the Pensieve would get that same sense of "presentness."

awww cute! I LOL'd at:
"Draco heads towards the bathroom. He isn’t sure whether to laugh or cry. This year, the anniversary hadn’t gone terribly. But apparently, he draws like a five year old girl."

Draco just isn't all that artisticly inclined. ;)

Loved it. I agree with Lynds, the present tense really works in tying it together.

Sweet, happy fic.

Thanks!

The present tense was a bit difficult because I'd slip back into past tense while I was writing it so I'm really glad it worked out in the end.

Adorable! I love that Draco couldn't quite get it right until the end. Him drawing like a 5 year old is priceless. :D

Draco isn't the most artistic person in my mind. ;)

The perfect gift can take a long time to find...or years to make. =)
