Spring 2007 Edition
Draco/Ginny Exchange
Welcome Welcome Everyone! ;)
There have been several changes this year - the most important being the inclusion of our fabulous co-creative types, the fanartists - but most everything else will stay the same.
Your mods for this adventure are still Jessica (
jandjsalmon) and Jess (
rarity - formerly known as forgetablelove) and we are both very excited to be able to throw this party once again for all our fellow fangirls (er.. and boys?).
Now, lets get to it...
Rules
These Rules and Regulations in their entirety are also found in our
User Info.
Feel free to check it out throughout the exchange. ;)
1. If you request a fic or art, you must be able to fulfill someone else's request.
2. You do not have to be a Live Journal user to participate, but you do need a valid email address so we can contact you. And we will contact you... often. ;)
3. All fics should have a minimum word count of 1500. (Note: The word count has been upped since last round). There is no maximum word limit. All fics must be complete when sent to us. Chaptered or multi-part fics are fine, but entire fic must be completed by the due date. All fics should be emailed to the community email in either Word format or .txt format.
4. All art should emailed to the community email in .jpg, .gif, or .png format.
5. Code your fic with the appropriate html tags. If you send your fic in with Microsoft Word (which is fine), you still have to tag your work!
6. Please have your fic spell-checked and beta-read.
7. All entries will be posted here, just for reference purposes.
8. To maintain anonymity, please do not post your entry anywhere else until after the revealing.
9. In order to request or write a fic or draw piece of artwork rated NC-17 you must be at least 18. You can turn 18 the day before for all we care, but you must be 18 at the time of requesting/writing.
10. And finally -- if you sign up and then need to quit the exchange you may ned up on the dreaded Wall of Shame. You may not, but depending on WHEN you drop out, and your reasons... you just might. And I promise horrible manips of Draco doing unspeakable things to a Mudblood as your penance. Be sure that if you want to play, that you don't bite off more than you can chew. ;)
Where do I sign up?
Either fill out the following form in a comment to this post. All comments shall be screened. ;) OR email the same form to us at
dgficexchange@hotmail.com if you don't have a journal. (May we suggest getting a journal? It's free. You know you want to, think of all the D/G fun you could have with a journal. ;))
Also - there is a question about the following bit of meta at the end of the form... really really easy... but yeah, please take a gander - the question is easy, but the essay is really really fabulous!

Much like last round, we have decided to let you pick your prompt. The reason we started it this wasy was to encourage less dropping out because YOU actually picked your prompt - you can get excited about it etc. We've made the exchange anonymous to everyone but the mods until the reveal and awards so there is no pressure... for excample: 'Holy Frak, I'm writing for one of my favourite authors, I may just hyperventilate.' ;) (This actually happened to
jandjsalmon during the first round... Luckily the amazingly talented writer she wrote for was gracious and wonderful... but she still had lots of pressure when she was writing!)
Once the period of sign-ups are over with there will be a post full of all the prompts that were requested - only you'll have no idea who requested what. You can CHOOSE the prompt you feel you'd want/be able to write or draw. Reply in that post (screened again) with your top 5 or 6. Then, we'll email you that your request for a prompt was okay'd. Then the only thing to do is get writing! ;)
Once again there will be awards... only fewer and more specific categories this time. The methods for nominating and voting will be tightened up as well.
Once you're done writing (and by all means, if you're done before the deadline, hand it on in...) please email it to us (
dgficexchange@hotmail.com) with this header:
Title:Rating:Possible Spoilers/Warnings:Summary (if fic):Original Prompt: (just a note - this part will be moved when it's posted)
Deadlines and Dates
Sign ups: March 20, 2007 - April 1, 2007
Picking the Prompts: April 1, 2007 - April 10, 2007
Fics due: May 25, 2007
Posting Begins: May 26, 2007
Awards: June/July, 2007
We hope you all are as excited as we are for this Round of the Exchange!
Remember, you all know about us, but now it's your job to sign up and tell a friend! ;)
PS. After the sign-ups and the prompt requests we will be posting a sign-up for people willing to be beta's. This will be open for all watchers/non watchers etc. Just for those people who don't have a regular beta to send their work to. Keep your eyes open for it if you think you wouldn't mind helping out! ;)
