I'm re-posting something that neobitch put up. Please go here and watch this. It's awesome, and it answers my question of what I need to use as a soundtrack from my Aldana fencer and musicologist in 7th Sea. Any guy who learned to swordfight from the same people he learned to play spanish guitar from should be listening to Rodrigo y Gabriela.

Hung out yesterday with the4v3ry and deadro and realized something: the world is full of incest. How do they know Cyrus and Tony? But even that's not really the question. The question is more, "Why do they know Cyrus and Tony when I do too?" And furthermore, how does deadro know lilmissnever? Fire spinning, I assume, but they're both geeks, too.

Also, I think I need to set LJ rules for myself. I realized how infrequently I've been posting, and I thought I should rectify that. Maybe it's because I've been busy IRL, but more likely it's because I'm not at UCSB any more, and so I'm not constantly bombarded by crazy. So here are my self-imposed rules:
1) One post a week minimum.
2) No boring work posts. This is not the same as work posts. The first would be like, "Oh dammit Tom fucked up again I have to fix it blah blah blah". The latter would be, 'Dude, we're making the most awesome feature that I can't tell you about. Fuck."
3) Minimum of link-based or meme-based posts. Not that I do a lot to begin with.
4) I'll try not to bore you with gaming content.

So now, at Dom's request, I'll break #3.

a) List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself
b) Tag seven people to do the same
c) Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it"

I'm also ignoring B) and C), because I suck balls.

7) I have an irrational and unreasonable love of Cuba. I've never been there. I think I mostly just like the concept of Cuba - what it was back in the day and what it could grow up into. This whole communist thing is just a hobby gone awry. This is also why my Pirates of the Burning Sea flies sails with the seal of Havana on them.

6) I have to know how to exit where I am at any time. Be it somebody's house or a building or whatever, I mentally plot the fastest way to get from where I am to 'away' whenever I get inside. This also extends to city streets and figuring out how to ditch pursuit. I have never been persued such that I'd have to use that knowledge.

5) I love melons, but I cannot eat them. They make my throat itch, and swell, probably because I'm allergic to them. This is why I shrug when people talk about how much they love eating watermelon. Coincidentally? Watermelon tastes great. You bastards.

4) I hate the telephone. I hate it like red-blooded americans hated communism back in the day. But much like Americans tolerated the Soviets in World War 2, I tolerate the phone because it is useful. I wish I could go back to the 4 years I never had a phone.

3) I will eat anything made of food. I may not request it, but I'll eat it. In fact, one of my favorite things is to never order the same thing at a restaurant. Some places I can't help doing this (because a particular item is SO GOOD or I've eaten everything) but when all other facts are equal, I will eat something different.

2) I calculate that I spend about 8 hours and 10 minutes every day thinking about spaceships and/or cyberpunk. This does not preclude me from doing other things, but sometimes my other activities need theme music because of it. Case in point? Yesterday I was listening to You Know My Name, by Chris Cornell (the song from the new Casino Royale) because I was mentally blocking out a Shadowrun game set in Serbia while trying to fix some banners.

1) In a vague and general sense, I worry nobody takes me seriously enough. Yet at the same time, I take pains to avoid being serious. It is a conundrum.
