Pepsi's the new generation
tonight was the haus dinner and Eva's bf Janis helped us cook everything and serve it...all the kinder came, except A & L.
A wrote a really nasty evaluation of me the other day-i don't know if it's bc he's a grad student and thinks this program is worthless or what...but it is not fun having him in class. he rolls his eyes and acts like he is way too smart for whatever it is we do. he suggested i didnt care about the students and that i act like theyre not worth my time. i was like, you idiot, i made a special reading group for you and prep additional lesson plans every freakin day for it. how is that acting like i don't care? the reading group came after grad students demanded they werent getting enough challenging assignments...i didnt mean to baby them but a lot of them have NEVER had german, i cant have them reading Hegel in a week. ugh! but the really fun students, and seeing everyone come and speak and have a good time at dinner with Eva and Janis makes up for A's antics. most of the other students are great, they don't follow me around like the ones from the academy but im def ok with that...plus, it was so his choice to wait until now to start studying the language. i feel like im too old to be intimidated by my students, that was supposed to be in practicum. and isn't he too old??? i would like to see him try and excite 22 college grads about direct objects. i think when you get out of middle school, it's time to stop agonizing the teacher. as if i get paid enough to do all this shit and then deal with a stupid power struggle in the classroom. he actually laughed out loud at me once during a lesson. next time that happens, im going to say "you probably got a lot of property! blow it out ya assssss"
