Another damn paper, Dan/Blair, Spartacus, and Skins

I think I’ve previously posted about how I had to write a ten-page paper a week or two ago. Well today I have to write a 1500-3000 word paper. And I should add that although 1500 is the absolute minimum, 2000 was recommended. Uggggh. Papers. I probably should have started on it sooner (i.e. earlier than the day before it was due) but I was just so papered-out from writing the previous one. And at the moment… I just kind of want to take a nap. Homework has that effect on me.

I just want to fast forward to tomorrow night, because a) my paper will be done with and b) Gossip Girl, I mean, the DAN/BLAIR show (because let’s face it, they’re the only reason I’m keeping up with the episodes as they air) will be on tomorrow night! They had better at least kiss, if not… D:< But alas, six-week break after that, with a CLIFFHANGER, possibly partly Dan/Blair related :(

And that 6-week break seems miniscule compared to the year I’ll have to wait for the next season of Spartacus. Plus Naevia is being recast because the actress left, so that on top of a new Spartacus (the character) I’m a little hesitant of next season. Lesley-Ann was so great as Naevia and it might prove even harder for me since Naevia/Crixus is one of my favorite parts of the show and what if the new!Naevia/Crixus doesn’t have the same chemistry?

Part of me hoped that we’d just have Crixus searching for Naevia for a long time, refusing to believe that she’s gone/dead despite evidence that she is, just so I wouldn’t have to put up with a new Naevia and then we’d get awesome-angsty!Crixus. Cuz I swear, I’ve felt like Naevia has to die at some point since the beginning of the show just because historically Crixus wanted to keep plundering Rome when Spartacus wanted to leave after awhile (according to Wikipedia). And that sounds to me like a guy who wants vengeance for his dead lover and has nothing left to live for, whereas if she was alive, he’d want to find some safe place to settle down and have a family with her, right? Then Crixus, Spartacus, Oenemus, and Gannicus could just have a Women We Loved Are Dead Club and they could be angsty together and talk about their ~feelings. Oh, aaaaand, then if Lesley-Ann’s work schedule allowed it, she may be able to come back in future seasons and the writers decided that ‘Surprise!’, Naevia wasn’t actually dead. (This is sounding a bit like my proposed idea about Spartacus being presumed dead and a new guy just posing as Spartacus for image’s sake and then Andy possibly being able to come back if he could.)

Oh, and Skins! I've been a bit bored lately with it, ngl. I think it's just that they've been doing a lot about the Mini/Nick/Liv/Matty drama and it's getting old, not that I ever much liked that storyline (at least beyond Mini's episode). But next week is Alo's episode, it looks like, so hopefully the focus will be shifted back to the half of the Third Generation kids whom I love more and have missed the past three weeks: Alo/Frankie/Rich/Grace.

Wow I just wrote a lot about TV. I didn’t mean to… Obviously this is me just wanting to further procrastinate writing my paper :)

PS: Anyone want to talk about the last episode (are all/any episodes) of Spartacus: Gods of the Area? I can't think of much to coherently say now, at least without putting off writing my paper even more, which I probably shouldn't do.
