After having an interesting confrontation with Ciaran, a certain Ryan Pendergast is now slightly exhausted and slightly unnerved, as pretty much anybody would be if their half-demonic half-brother who tortured their current girlfriend told them that their dead former girlfriend who they still love says hello from Hell. ...right. Anyway, the real reason this post is being made (and on the main community, no less) is that Ryan is also smiling. Honest-to-god smiling that hasn't been seen on his face since -- high school, probably, which was about ten years ago for him.
It's a faint sort of smile, but it's there, and it's definitely been a long time in happening, though who knows what ultimately caused it. Who knows why Ryan does anything, really.
Tristan is currently sitting on the sofa next to him, quietly re-reading The Fellowship of the Ring to prepare for his one person re-enactment of it. It's almost a picture of serene, familial happiness, for once, until Rain breaks the silence by bursting into the room with a huge grin on her face.
"Ryan! Tristan! I'm glad I found you two," she beams at them, looking exceedingly happy about something. "I have really good news. I've been -- lost for the past few days, because I had no idea which direction I wanted to take my life in. I think I finally have something figured out, though."
Ryan tilts his head inquiringly and Tristan brightens a little. "What is it?"
"I'm going to become a nun!"
"Congratulations," Ryan says, standing up to give her a hug, which clearly surprises her, but she hugs him back.
"Thank you. To celebrate, I think I'm going to take everyone in the family out for coffee. In fact, I should start tracking everyone else down right now. Has anyone seen Anaximander anywhere? He should probably be the next one to know this news."
"I think I talked with him earlier," Tristan frowns a little. "You might want to check in the library."
"I'll go find him and Ciaran," Ryan volunteers, standing up. "We can meet you two out front."
"That sounds good. Demosthenes volunteered his car, if he doesn't manage to make it in time, so we can borrow that. Here, catch."
She tosses him the keys to the car and turns to Tristan expectantly. "Well?"
"I think I'll have to pass on the coffee," Tristan replies.
And this room seems to attract Pendergasts, because Demosthenes is now standing in the doorway, looking imposing.
Because he is very, very tall.

HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY! :D
For the uninitiated: In reality, Ryan would never smile or hug people, Rain wouldn't even be able to joke about becoming a nun without cracking up, because she likes sex too much, Tristan wouldn't read 'quietly', say so little (unless something was wrong with him), or refuse coffee. Ever. Ciaran and Anaximander are horrible and the rest of the family don't usually want to associate with them-- And Demosthenes, of course, is short. :D *--is promptly glared at. shortly. --aaand is shot. ....shortly. >__>*
--Plz to pretend this is a legitimate RP post in chat until everyone gets a chance to see it. >___> I hope it fooled you for a second, even though the icon kind of gives it away. ♥
Typist: It's a Pendergast free-for-all! Feel free to send puppets. :D
