Because murder doesn't solve anything. Ever. So someone hurt someone you care about and you, what, you kill him. He hasn't learned his lesson. He hasn't learned not to hurt anyone, he can't, he's dead and all he's got now is wasted time. It doesn't change that someone was hurt at first, and it hurts the people who love him. And it doesn't make you feel any better either.
