*somewhere in the main room of the mansion, the body of Erebus Hades (messofinnocence) is pinned neatly to a wall with two knives through his shoulders; he's been shot in the forehead and through the heart, at point-blank range, so the wounds are messy and the blood is copious, and Dio hasn't bothered to clean them up

*nods again and takes Dio into his arms, kissing him before just holding him against him for a moment*

*curls up against him, face pressed into his neck, trying not to cry again and almost succeeding*

*knows he'll probably need to hold him longer than he figured, and-- will just do that, then, stroking the back of his neck soothingly*

*and that makes him start quietly crying again, shuddering a little and taking fistfuls of his shirt to steady himself*
