Lilli stands, head bowed, arms by her side, feet turned out, perfectly still. Then suddenly, her arms jerk up as if pulled by strings. She gives a marionette-like wave and grins widely before beginning her puppet dance. Her face is painted white, cheeks pink, lips dark red. Unless you look quite closely, she seems to be a life-sized doll.
