Well, it's settled. Tristan two-very-confusing-middle-names Pendergast has finally found someone with more energy than him. A very furry and adorable someone.

Trotting behind him as he enters the room is Xenocrates, a toy American Eskimo. Though she's well-trained enough to know not to bark like mad, she's so excited about going somewhere new ( Read more... )

*...and she'll kneel to squee delightedly* Oh, she's adorable! What a sweet dog. Will she bite my hand off if I impose cuddles upon her?

*Xenocrates, after that stint under the sofa, is now covered with dust, but she'll shake herself off and skitter out because zomg new person! Yay!-- but first Tristan gets jumped upon!*

Um, no. *attempts to brush the dust off his pants* I think she may try to lick your face off, though.

*laughs, because awwww* I think I can hold my own in the face of that onslaught -- pun not intended. *and will hold her arms out for the puppyyyy, yes*

*with a grin--* Hey, Xenocrates? Introduce yourself properly.

*and Xenocrates kind of skids to a halt in front of Tori, tilts her head, and gives something that resembles a bow-- before pouncing on her and giving puppy!kisses*

--Okay, I guess that's good enough. *scritches Xenocrates on the head!* Probably the type of introduction I'd give, except with less slobbering. Though I sometimes pounce on people.

*can't help giggling, and Xenocrates is getting a quick hug because she loves dogs* And polite, too. Well-trained. *grins* It seems like a good enough introduction to me. Pouncing is a perfectly acceptable method of greeting.

I think it is! Except people don't seem to like it as much when the source of the pouncing is a guy and not a 15-pound dog.

*And now Xenocrates is wagging her tail furiously and looking between Tori and Tristan as they talk, sometimes running little circles around the two of them because did we mention that she has a lot of spare energy?*

*and that's just adorable, so she'll really be paying attention to Xenocrates just as much as Tristan as they talk* Well, it depends on the person's size. I have a lot of tall relatives, so they don't really mind when it's me. I hope they don't, anyway.

My half-sister tends to jump and then say -- *does a spot-on impression of Grace* -- 'God, you are such a freak'. *grins* She's such a sweet girl.

I'm Tristan Pendergast, by the way. Tristan Athanasios Aristodemos Pendergast, if you want to get technical, but I usually don't.

*laughs* My half-siblings usually tolerate it, but I think that's only because they're used to far worse. *...and this is faint amusion* Tori Hades -- Victoria Minerva Bradstreet Hades, what you said about getting technical -- and there really is no one in the world to whom I don't have some sort of connection. Selene's my half-sister.

Oh. Selene, really? She threatened to hurt me once and then refused me caffeine, but I like her. -- Then again, I pretty much get along with everyone, even my own family members. Just like Xenocrates. Right, girl?

*and upon hearing her name, Xenocrates will now wag her tail so much that her entire body is wiggling, and she'll also bark!*

She does that. It's an endearing trait of hers. *...and has to giggle again* Getting along with everyone is a good trait to develop. She really is sweet, I've wanted a dog for ages.

I think she did it for the greater good of the world, too.

They're great. I've only had her for a couple of weeks, but this breed is especially easy to train. -- Want to see another trick?

Yes, indeed! -- Xenocrates, show Tori what happens when someone from the D'Agosta family and someone from the "other" side of the Pendergast family go out on a date.

*Xenocrates will pause in whatever she's doing at the moment, then obediently trot out to the center of the room, happily wagging her tail. After a few seconds of that, she'll rush to the side of the room, lowering her ears and skulking around in the shadows growling. Back to the center of the room, she will slowly creep away on her belly, dash into a run and go tearing around the room, then skid to a halt, ending with sad and tail-tucked-between-legs return to underneath the sofa.*

*...dissolves into giggles* It happened just like that?

Well, there may have been more rock music and police sirens involved, but that's as close to a re-enactment I could get with a -- psychotic dog who won't sit still. *grins*
