Perpetua is a little more festive than Selene tonight, but there's no doubt that she's out of place in the shop. She's dressed in a glorified yellow chicken suit, a matching yellow baseball cap on her head, and a green cardboard star plastered on her feathered stomach.

"Dad is not an acceptable spook!"

"Why not? And what the hell are you supposed to be?"

"Dad's not scary."

She shuffles, featherishly. "I'm a sneetch, silly! A star-belly sneetch. You forgot your classics."

"He's terrifying." Her pride should be quite obvious.

"I never forget my classics. That's not one."

"Only if you're a wuss."

She glares. "It is so. The book makes a far better point than The Cat in the Hat or even How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

"It isn't nice to call people names."

"...I'm not going to reply to that. I assume you'll have having the usual?"
