Kalyn's watching her from a corner, speculatively. After all, Kaat had been telling her she needed to find something to do, and this definitely qualified as something to do.

"I might be able to help. If it doesn't involve levitation, that is, because I haven't quite got the hang of it myself yet."

"Levitation?" she echoes, clearly intrigued. "One can do that? I rather thought that was the sort of thing only fairy tale magicians did."

"Well, yeah. It usually explodes for me, though." She wrinkles her nose. "It makes a terrible mess, and Daddy and Papa just give me those looks."

"Does your mother mind it?"

[iamnotelphie]

"I never met my mother." There's a shrug and a smile. "She, uh, left right after I was born."

She flushes. "Forgive me."

[iamnotelphie]

"It's alright. How could you know?" A pause. "Anyway, what do you want to learn about?"

"Oh, everything!"

[iamnotelphie]

"Everything, hm?" She's trying not to look too amused. "I dunno if I can do everything, but I'll teach you what I know, at least."

"Well, of course. You could hardly teach things you don't know."

[iamnotelphie]

"That would make things rather difficult." There's a grin. "I'll have to see if Elphaba and Mark mind me teaching you at Kiamo Ko. They probably won't, but I think I'll ask anyway."

She blinks. "Who? Where?"

[iamnotelphie]

"Oh, um -- Elphaba's my grandmother. Mark's her husband. And Kiamo Ko is where we live, in Oz. It's Fiyero's -- he's my grandfather, it's his old castle."

[keeptothelight]

"Oh, but-- one cannot get home from here. I have been assured of that."

[iamnotelphie]

"It's worth a try, at least? If we can't, I've got books and stuff in my room, so."

[keeptothelight]

"I should be so very grateful! I do not know that I can offer any sort of payment, but should you ever require a favor, ever..."
