Some say murder is his gift--

The scene is set rather classicly simple, really - the room a wreck as if ruined by a fight and the two bodies lie some short distance away from one another upon the floor. ( For further discription... )

diomedes b. hades, kydoimos a. hades, aiden, arcadio, eridanos hades, otonashi riemann, cooper, death

One could argue that a demon would be used to scenes of gore, and it's certainly not as if Arcadio hasn't seen blood or death before. Were it anyone else, he'd respectfully turn away from a scene of violence that doesn't effect him, but this time, that's not the case. As soon as he notices Dio's body he falls on his knees by its side, briefly hoping that by some crazy chance he's still alive, and as soon as he convinces himself that he's dead he shudders and sits back next to the body, eyes closed, knees hugged to his chest, and does something he almost never does. His wings unfurl, one half-open and held close against him, the other open over Dio's body, the feathers covering the corpse in lieu of a shroud.

It's out of the corner of his eye that Cooper initially notices just the blood splattered across the floor. That's never a good sign, he knows, and the first question to cross his mind will never fail to be whether the person who came to harm was someone he cares for. For that very reason, he feels his lungs seize and that horrible nausea strike the instant that he sees Arcadio at the end of the trailing red. It takes him a moment to notice the wings, the fact that one is hiding something. And his heart sinks just that little bit farther.

Quiet and shaking, he grips the doorframe as he just stares and mutters, "Don't tell me..."

"I won't," Arcadio says softly, rising to his feet slowly, wings still outspread.

Turning to lean back against the frame, eyes on the floor rather than the contents of the room, his simple but accurate translation of his own thoughts comes out as "Fuck." Then his eyes are closed as he he tries not to let it show that breathing is a bit too much of a conscious effort and he's getting ill all over again.

"Come on." He spreads his wings to their full span, to block the view, and puts his hands on Cooper's shoulders. "You don't need to see this. Let's get the fuck out of here."

He takes a deep breath, holds it a moment and then lets it go as he pushes off from the wall again, running a hand through his hair. "Jesus. Fuck."

"Come on, turn." He nudges his shoulders, pushing him closer to the door. "I know, it's hard. But you need to get out of here, okay? I don't want you seeing this."

It takes a bit, a mostly unconscious debate and an entirely conscious effort, but eventually Cooper complies. He knows what's there without having to see it. No use in having the details. But either way-- "I need a fucking drink."

Arcadio holds onto his shoulder firmly, partly for Coop's comfort but mostly for his, and he can't deny that that suggestion sounds like the best one he's heard all day. "Fuck yeah, me too. Let's get trashed."
