"Your guess is as good as mine," Persis says with a shrug, looking him over curiously. For the sake of exposition, she is a somewhat tall young woman with two large feathered wings growing out of her back.

He knows it isn't polite but Faramir really can't help staring. "Oh."

A little extra attention is natural for angels in her world, so almost out of habit Persis fluffs up her wings a bit, spreading them slightly. "I've been here quite some time and from what I know no one's sure exactly what's going on."

"That's nice.... Did you know you've got feathers?"

"I do?" She spreads her wings a little more and pulls an expression of surprise. "Where in Jovah's name did these come from?"

"I don't know. Magic?"

She can't resist a little showing off, so she spreads her wings to their full span and tilts her head towards them, making a thoughtful noise. "I think I like them, at any rate. I believe I'll keep them." Then she grins. "My name is Persis of Monteverde."

"I'm Faramir. Think you could get me some wings too?"

She laughs. "I was actually born with these, but I'll see what I can do, shall I?"
