Title: Lost
Series: IDW
Rating: T
Summary: Sinnertwin gets a bit turned around during a mission, has some problems, and gets a bit of help from Sixshot. Written for ultharkitty , prompt: Sinnertwin/Sixshot 'Why do you keep following me around?'
Notes: I'm not sure if this came out cracky, or if it's just Sinnertwin proving that he sometimes has, well... a problem.

Sinnertwin wasn't about to admit it anytime soon, but he was fragging lost. Actually, there wasn't anyone around for him to admit that to anyways, but it was the principle of the thing. He was a self-styled tracker, a hunter - he should know exactly where he was. Technically - he knew where he wasn't, which was where he was supposed to be, anyways.

This was confusing. Yes, this was confusing. Sinnertwin stopped, lifting one head to look at the other in confusion. Hadn't he already said that? He had already said that - and that! Hun-Grrr hated it when he did that - this - whatever it was. It just made him so angry. Hun-Grrr or Sinnertwin? Well, Hun-Grrr, but he supposed he - Sinnertwin - got mad too when -

Sinnertwin's other head whirled around, catching sight of something small dashing into the foliage around his feet. The forest seemed to go on forever, teeming with all sorts of horrible little monstrosities, all of them too quick for him to keep tabs on. There were too many of them, and they were making him nervous. Well, more nervous than he already was, to be honest. They were probably the reason he'd gotten turned around, but he couldn't really remember.

He started forward again, claws crushing the foliage and snapping branches. His yellow paint job made him stand out amongst all the green, but this mission hadn't involved any Autobots. He wasn't too worried about an attack, and being spotted only meant he'd be able to get out of here. Wherever here was. Why couldn't he remember? You forget these things, sometimes. It happens. Not often, but if Hun-Grrr finds out he'll get real angry about it.

Both of Sinnertwin's heads snapped up, catching the scent of something that wasn't organic. Exhaust fumes, the crispness of heat expelled from a cooling system, and Cybertronian in origin. It was a familiar scent, but he couldn't place it. No, he knew what it was, he was just confused. That was all. Follow the scent, get unlost, stop doing things that would make Hun-Grrr angry. Hopefully in that order.

Sinnertwin put one nose to the ground, following the scent. His other head kept a look out, which was hard to do with so many little forest critters zipping about. It took everything in him not to simply light the forest on fire. That would take care of the little monsters, wouldn't it? Yes, yes it would. Something in the trees hooted at him, and he snapped at it without thinking. Flames licked at his teeth, but whatever had startled him was long gone in a flash of feathers.

Fine, whatever, fly away. Sinnertwin looked behind him as he walked, just in case the fragging thing came back to peck at him or something. He was more than startled when his other head, nose buried in the leaves, hit against solid metal. Sinnertwin instinctively transformed, backing up a few paces to put some distance between himself and -

A large turquoise metal wolf stared up at him. Sinnertwin stared back, noticing the way the wolf was curled into itself, one of its hind legs slowly bleeding energon. He felt like that ought to be important. The wolf smelled of overheated fumes, its mouth slightly agape to help its cooling systems work harder.

“Sinnertwin,” the wolf said. Wow, it knew his name. That was weird. Yes, it was weird, but what's weirder is that you're acting like you don't know who it is. What? Of course I know who it is -

“Sixshot!” Sinnertwin said, brightening at once. The recognition fired through his processors, and the world around him seemed to snap into focus. He hadn't realized how foggy it had become until then. Despite the sudden clarity, he still felt lost. “What are you doing out here?”

Sixshot stared at him, one ear flicking back, then forward. “I was going to ask you why you were following me.”

Sinnertwin's expression wilted. Oh, he'd forgotten something really important this time, hadn't he? This hadn't happened in a long time, probably not since they'd left Cybertron. Hun-Grrr was going to be really, really fragging upset when he found out. Sixshot seemed to sense something was amiss anyways, shifting his weight and pushing his legs out. He hyperextended the injured leg a bit too far, and pulled it back in towards his body.

“Hun-Grrr said this might happen,” Sixshot said, head whipping around to look over his shoulders, one ear forward, the other tilted towards Sinnertwin. He turned back after a moment, apparently deciding whatever was out there wasn't important. Sinnertwin had never really seen him in his alt mode like this, at least not without him switching to another mode and attacking something. “It's not your fault.”

“Oh,” said Sinnertwin, failing to detect any sort of urgency in Sixshot's flat tone. What exactly had happened? “Okay.”

They stared at one another, before Sixshot lifted his head, nose catching the scent of something. He shifted again, massive metal paws crushing the dry leaves beneath him.

“Um,” Sinnertwin said, intending on asking what was actually going on around here, when he suddenly felt dizzy. He hadn't noticed how low he was on energon until now, and he wondered how long he'd been out tracking in the forest. Had he been tracking Sixshot? Why? “I don't... uh...”

His knees buckled, but only because of one of those giant paws swiping at him, and not the exhaustion that was settling in. Sinnertwin collapsed against Sixshot's side, but the sixchanger didn't budge. He felt him push his nose against his armor, and the hot bursts of air as he took in his scent. Sinnertwin let himself go limp, too tired to care anymore.

He'd remember what had happened eventually. There were only a few times in his life that he'd felt like this - the confusion, the fogginess, the memory loss - but he always came out of it. Maybe this go around was bad timing, but Sixshot was here, at least. It was probably lucky that he had been following him, even if he couldn't quite remember why.
