Gideon: Fab? Have you... ummm.... checked your mail?
F: ... No, I haven't. What is it?
Gideon: You'll hear the official story, but this is just between us. I'm hiding Narcissa Malfoy.
F: Why would you do -that-?
Gideon: Because I asked her to leave her husband.
F: ... Really? And it actually worked?
Gideon: Yes... she and I had a long talk when I returned her wand to her. Fab, please don't disown me?
F: Why would I disown you? ... It's just ... a surprise, that's all.
Gideon: *deep shaky breath* Molly's ready to commit me. And I'll let you see Ron's reaction yourself. If I screw this up she's gonna die, and it'll be because of me.
F: Well, I still don't understand it myself. But I -know- that you've never made a bad decision in your life, so I don't see what's so different about this one.
Gideon: Even you'll have to admit it's stupid to try to steal someone like lucius' malfoy's wife... living through this is the least of my worries. Unfortunately. And I've had a bad few days for poor judgement. But this... you remember what the Black girls were like?
F: Yes - Andromeda wasn't too bad, but Narcissa and Bellatrix? *rolls his eyes* ... I have to admit that this wasn't the -best- of actions, but what can we do? You can exactly just change your mind and send her back. There's no use chiding you over it - the only thing left to do is just make the best of the situation.
Gideon: There's only one thing I've heard of that can keep her from being found. And I've forgotten more magic than I like to think.. but I don't think I knew this one to start with... do you? The Fidelius charm... I've asked the Order for help, but so far... that's been a fiasco. Except for Caradoc, bless his heart, and he has his own family find.
F: The Fidelius charm? It sounds familiar, but I don't think I've ever heard -about- it. Still ... I'm sure that among all the talented wizards there should be -someone- that knows it or can learn it quickly.
Gideon: I'm hoping to hear from Dumbledore in the morning. Ron is so mad at me. Poor kid. But even if... she can't go back.
F: ... No, she really can't. *sighs* And I'm sure Ron will get over his anger sooner or later.
Gideon: Thanks Fabian. I've missed you these last few days.
F: *grins* Missed you too, of course.
Gideon: I could've done with a few pranks. If you're with me, I can be patient while the Order decides if it's going to help or not. It's easier when you're around.
