Wedding looms on the horizon
WARNING: LENGTHY POST AHEAD.
So the wedding is only a few weeks away. The jewelery place hasn't called me about my ring yet. When i called them last, they assured me that it would be in before the wedding.
When i bought the thing, they said 2 or 3 weeks. When 2 or 3 weeks had passed without word from them, I went back to the store and they said that orders take 4 to 6 weeks and then said 4 to 8 weeks when i called back. the next week. IT'S JUST A SIMPLE RING AND YOU ONLY CARRY THE DISPLAY IN THE STORES SO I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT YOU GET MUCH BUSINESS IF EVERYTHING TAKES AN ACT OF FUCKING GOD TO BE SHIPPED! I MEAN REALLY, WHO THE FUCK TAKES ALMOST TWO FUCKING MONTHS TO GET A PRODUCT INTO A FUCKING STORE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THAT PRODUCT IS ALREADY PAID FOR!? DON'T KID YOURSELVES INTO THINKING YOU'RE HIGH CLASS ENOUGH TO MAKE PEOPLE WAIT, YOU'RE A FUCKING DIME-A-DOZEN JEWELRY STORE IN A MALL! HOW HIGH CLASS CAN YOU BE WHEN YOU'RE NEXT TO A PRETZEL STAND AND I CAN SMELL THE FUCKING FUMES FROM THE ABERCROMBIE STORE FROM YOUR FRONT ENTRANCE!!!
Needless to say, I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on. If I thought I had the time to do so, I'd cancel my order, get my money back and purchase my ring elsewhere.

Aside from the ring, everything is coming along smoothly. The RSVPs have come back in a good number, and while we'll be sad that a few of our friends are otherwise occupied, we'll be happy to see some that we haven't seen in a while. Besides, we'll see a bunch more at the post-reception at Return of the Bats (yes, Jerry has told me that he's planning something for us since he and a few others wont be able to make it due to having to set up at Jarrel Affair around the same time)
I tried on my shirt/tie/vest last night and everything fits very nicely. Mel said I looked good, and that's what matters. I've still got to get some pants and shoes, but if you've ever been shopping with me, if it's pants and shoes i'm looking for, it's pants and shoes i'll get, and probably in about 15 minutes. My shopping is very "seek and destroy" so that shouldn't be a problem.
I don't think I'll have access to the extension cords that I was going to use to get power to the park shelter, so if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions. (and no, i think a gas powered generator would be a bit loud, not to mention the cost of running would probably double our wedding expenses thus far)
I still have no idea what The Toms are planning for my bachelor party (I work in porn, so they understand that strippers would be a bad idea and they promised they wouldn't "take me to work") I'm hoping it involves either go-karts and mini golf or drinking and explosives...or perhaps DRUNKEN EXPLODING GO-KART MINIGOLF! (that would be friggan aweXome! :D ) Whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be a blast. I trust those two with this. Hell, I trust those two with my life, they've been my friends for some 15 years now.
That's about all I can think of right now, but I'm sure I had more I wanted to say.
