Yours truly got to stand in the Winners Circle for this one. And say a huge "thank you" and shake hands with Russell Baze. How dreamy..... ~E
(PS. I took the photo so it is not the greatest. ;) Do notice the huge lead he pulled off!!)

Embrace The Storm romps
August 30, 2008
The class rises to the top. Such was the case today as Embrace The Storm broke his maiden dominating a MSW field at Sacramento. Embrace The Storm was a little green early breaking out just slightly at the start. However, jockey Russell Baze got him settled as Embrace The Storm blazed through sizzling early fractions of 21.4 and 44 flat for the half-mile. Embrace The Storm faced a challenge heading into the turn but quickly vanquished his pursuer and sprinted clear at the head of the stretch. He drew clear to a nearly five-length victory at the wire while stopping the teletimer for six-furlongs in a strong 1:09.1.
Trainer O.J. Jauregui said, "He ran great. Russell Baze said the colt was a little green early. Despite that, he settled well and put away that horse that came up inside very easily. He took the turn well and drew off. Russell said that he had plenty of horse at the end. That was a very nice effort for a horse that had been off so long. He still has some learning to do, but it was great to get a win right off the bench. We'll move on to the next condition."
A son of Storm Cat, Embrace The Storm now has one win from three career starts. The victory pushed his earnings over $19,400.
