Do you really belive that if he had not gotten in the car he would have lived? Yes, the accident that would claim his life would not have happened, but it did, and he did die. He did. But would he have lived thirty years longer? I am not so sure. We dwell on these absurd what-ifs. His time was up and he died in that accident. If he had not, it is just as possible that he would have died in another way. Was he meant to live longer? These are questions of absurdity and questions I cannot answer. A question of fate, I guess, but that is silly. We are men of rationality.
