Hey livejournal. Long time. Well, I've been busy. But I'm here now. So...
I have returned to the work force, as a teamster no less! I have been working almost two months at the Gian warehouse. I'm there now! Posting from my phone (it's nice to know we still have some firsts left in us, LJ.), because my stupid stupid neighbor who has been compensated nicely and in advice to transport myself and Stephanie doesn't see the need to make two trips. So I'm at work an hour and a half early. This is not satisfactory. But more on that after I tell you about my job.
I am a warehouse selector, which means I run around all day lifting boxes that average 35 lbs building pallets to send to the grocery stores. It's seriously rough, but I'm getting into (better) shape really quickly. I lost 15 lbs in my first month! And the end of the day has gone from excruciating pain to sore and really tired fairly quickly. That's good, because I need to get my productivity up or I won't be long for this job. Haha I should have taken it more seriously when my interviewer told me that I would be an "industrial athlete", cuz that description was no joke. These guys at work are flying around me all day, lifting the heaviest boxes like they're nothing, moving at a clip that would have me exhausted after two hours. Some of them have their work done after 4 hours, while at the end of the shift, I barely have 80% of my work done. It's crazy. But I'm pretty confiden that with time I'll get in even better shape, and get good at this job. That's such a huge perk- I'm getting in shape! And not just losing weight, but building some muscle too. It's like a gym that pays $12/hr. Not too shabby! I could totally make a career out of this too- after 2-3 years I'd move from "vacation relief" to permanent status, and then every once in awhile I'd get to do less strenuous shit like drive a forklift or load trucks sometimes. And after a few more years, I'd almost never have to select anymore. (Gonna have to diet. EUGH.) and the pay gets really good once you're permanent too. I'm also only about 4 months away from health insurance, which is awesome. I'm quite pleased to be a part of this company, and I hope I can stay on here. If not, I got paid to lose weight. Win-win iyam.
Now, on to my lazy neighbor and how fed up I am with her shit two months into our year-long paid in advance contract. I won't go into details, but she came to me an Stephanie for a second time with pockets turned out, basically begging us for some cash. So we gave her what she need, and she gratefully accepted it as payment for transportation to work and school for us for a year. Without going into numbers, I will say that it was a fair amount. Now she keeps coming up with reasons she can't do certain things, and situations keep happening where I hav to get up early, which blows my whole day, because I'm needing more sleep than usual right now to recover from work- all I do right now is sleep and work. I've been neglecting the fuck put of poker, because I just don't have the energy for it. So, I'm fed up. SO, I finally finished driver's ed. Within a week, MVA will have me in their system, and I can take my driver's test. And get a license. And drive my own fucking self to work. And Wendy's :-D
I keep checking prices on Camaros in the area. Words cannot describe how much I want to have a Camaro. I'm not even sure why. But I know nothing would make me happier. Now it could be I'll just end up with some $800 beater. But I'd rather drop a couple g's on a Camaro. We'll see- maybe Stef will be so pleased that I got my license that she'll let me get one. Haha
Oh and I pwned the VBC. Four bracelets, six cashes, 2nd place in the Main Event, and I won the Tournament of Champions.
