The Year after the one we just had...
...and surprise! It's cold. Alaska cold now (-47f in town, -28f on my porch). Stuff "just doesn't like to work right" cold. The ice fog (ice smog) hangs over much of town lending an eerieness to the place -a miasma of burnt wood, gas and oil (Fortunately that we live out of that frozen cloud). The tires on our cars start out rather...un-round in the mornings. Think: shopping cart with four bad wheels. The well-insulated house is keeping us warm -even if all the windows and doors have various levels of ice build-up...on the inside (which is normal it seems). I took a helium balloon outside and "Holy giant raisin, Batman!" heh... stupid winter tricks. The days are noticeably longer now making the coldest temps we've experienced here a *bit* more tolerable. But damn, -40 is cold anyway you slice it.
More things going on than I have time to address at the moment...Mom is pretty ill back home and I need to keep on that situation (my sister is really doing to heavy work though) Luke-dog is having surgery again (today) Allie has been cast into the deep end of Grad school- and we have so much to figure out for the upcoming Summer! oh yeah- Artwork to finish for this month and behavior modification for the kid! We also harbor a desire for a social life with *actual* people. Crazy yes, but we feel there is a chance of that happening soon. (Dinner invites are forthcoming) And -I have a job too don't I? Hmmm... that's long post if I ever get around to it. I miss my old job sometimes, and the friends I have there (Hi! Haven't forgot about you-though you wouldn't know it -bad Mark).
