I am obsessed. It's even eclipsed my Star Trek mania. And it's horrible, because I have to wait until Sunday (and then the next Sunday and the next) until I can satisfy my obsession.
So, I recently discovered (completely by an extremely happy accident (thanks Youtube!)) that a new show has come out in the UK. This show is called Sherlock and it's a modern day take on Sherlock Holmes (not enough to convince you? Watson is played by Martin Freeman (who I know as Arthur Dent in H2G2) and Holmes is played by Benedict Cumberbatch (IDK who he is, really, but his name is kind of hilarious), it looks great).
Frankly, you had me at Holmes because, srsly, that is one of my greatest obsessions and I love watching various versions to see how they deviate from the books and how it works out (in this case, it looks pretty freakin' awesome. In the case of Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century? Not so much.) So as soon as I saw this, I had to see more. Unfortunately for me, I'm in America. And the show has only been aired in the UK so far. And anything but very short clips and fanvids has been deleted from Youtube. And I'm still obsessed. It's pretty bad, I've been watching all the clips and vids I can, and it's still not enough (I don't do illegal downloads, that just seems rude).
So, yesterday I discovered, in my desperation for new clips, that Sherlock will be airing on PBS, starting this Sunday. It runs for three Sundays and then comes out on DVD in America. I am now living for Sunday evening (October 24), nine o'clock.
I. Am. So. Excited!!!
