Dairy Queen Ice Cream Thingy

hmmmm.. well I've bee... *phone call*

oh my gosh. Back around the end of June I ordered new rims and tires for my pimpin truck

and was told they'd be in in a few weeks.. well after 2 weeks I call and ask if the're in. Jim, my dude at the tire place apologized profusely, and relayed is own displeasure with the distributor he had placed the order with. They were not there. He had called a couple times in the past weeks to check on the status and was told "oh ya, they're on the truck headed up there right now." Well that was obviously not true... so regardless, Jim is unhappy with his distributor as it makes him look bad, and I'm unhappy with Jim's distributor as I have no tires and rims... actually the tires were here when I first ordered it all.. it just the rims I'm waiting on. Anyway, Jim orders them again with 2 day delivery and wont charge me for the shipping. So they should have been in yesterday. I called about half an hour ago and yup the're in. I said I'll be there about 5:10 tonight and he says cool. The phone call I got as I began typing this entry was Jim. He opened up the boxes and they sent the wrong rims. Sooooo, not I wait two more days. And with something else I ordered UPS agents on the phone gave me bogus info that resulted in me taking time off work for no reason, and twice in the past week I've been overcharged when buying crap at stores. I've been having a bad couple weeks when it comes to buying things.

Which brings me to something else.. Tara, you used to comment on my ability to not spend money... well that ability is long gone. Now that I have a job I'm like.. "ooOOOOoooohh! Thats shiney, and its on sale! That means I cant afford NOT to buy it!... I'll take 3 of'm."

And then I hand over my credit card because credit cards are like free money! Yay!

Its not really that bad, but I dont save like I used to, thats for sure. My current major expenditures are whatever I need for the mustang to get that freakin thing done. Man alive its taking forever. The body work is what has killed me. Its taken so many many hours of work ..

and then random other problems, like ordering the wrong engine, then needing to order a conversion kit for that engine, finding a paintbooth for the car waiting for good weather to work on it outside, trying to have a moderate social life and work on the mustang as much as I can.. I hate that I was so inactive back in the day. I wasted SOOOO much time. Now I'm always busy on some project. What did I accomplish my first 2 years out of highschool? Lets see, I got a level 31 Dwarven Paladin and uh.. Oh, a level 12 Dwarven Paladin and.. hmmm.. Oh, I milked some cows. Wow, I did a lot! Bah.. man, I could be so much farther ahead now if I hadnt been so lazy.

But things are rolling slowly ahead, its not really that bad. I have a job that is awsome experience. I began as an intern for my school, and after graduation stayed on. My supervisor left, so I got his position and was the lone IT guy for a while... The lone "Company Computer Guy" if you will..

then Aaron came and worked under my iron fist for about a year before his departure to the fancy world of Bellevue(or where-ever it was you went Aaron.. somewhere in wunna them BIG cities). Now once again I am all alone.. so very very alone

ok, I'm over it. So now I'm trying desperately to find a job in mid to Eastern Tennessee or in Kentucky. I applied at Carhartt
in Kentucky, but they gave me the 'ol finger. Now I recently applied at Komatsu in Chattanooga, TN. We'll see what they say but my hopes arent too high.

So ya. I want to move to the South. That is where people talk funny and there are fireflies.
I want Jumbolia... though thats a bit more of a Loosyana thing. But its closer at least.

I want to move away ... far away from home for a time. Not forever. Just a few years. 2-5 years maybe. That area definatly has a draw.. I dont know if its because of the hicktown conservative redneck aura that eminates from its cracks or what, but its downright neat. I loved the place when going through last year on my road trip.

I'm not tied down here. I dont have a girlfriend, wife, kids, or house. I have no job that I'm worried about cutting off because my current job has no future if I EVER want to make a moderate living. ...And the moderate to high pay is a main reason I got into this field. I sure dont love it enough to get paid crap and keep going at it. I may as well be a farmer if thats the case. Despite my previous hate for milking and farming, I'm beginning to wish I was doing that again. Offices suck.

My week in Las Vegas last month. It's too hot and too big. I dont dig cities usually though (Nashville is an exception). I'm not a big gambler.. I hate blowing money like that. I'm not into the titty shows(sorry Aaron, I know your disappointment in me), and its just a VERY hot craphole in the middle of the desert. Surrounding areas may be cool.. I would have liked to see some of the rock formations and and maybe some local smaller towns, but the city.. no.. There were some interesting things really, and I saw the Blue Man Group. They freaking were amazing. But really, I'd rather go to a small town that has natural green plants... and isnt 105 degrees every day.
I did try sushi though down there. Thats awsome. I loved it. I went up to Vancouver with my sister, brother, brother-in-law, and nephew a couple weeks back and had more at some little outfit downtown. Man thats good crap. Also checked out IKEA for the first time. Interesting.

****** Intermission - Time for Lunch ******

Ok, lunch is done. What was I talking about? ... um.. oh yes.. IKEA and sushi... well, I guess I'm done with that topic actually.. so uh ya.. I'm joining the 4x4 Search and Rescue unit. I have my 4x4 72 Blazer.. which has a FULL removable top.. so its a convertable kinda.. its just not easy to convert you could say.. it has no ragtop, just a hard top that can be taken off and on. But that thing weighs about 320lb so its not exactly a one person job... Even two is really REALLY pushing it. So Tara, that is your fault, as you got me liking the whole open top thing with your Miatas.

This is my 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer:

I'm kinda neglecting her currently. I mean, I've done a few things, but I gotta do some serious rust repair, get'r all painted, fiddle with the engine, and of course put on a lift & bigger tires. But the biggest priority after the Mustang is to move out if I dont get a job in Tennesee landed first.

Oh, and were making SOME progress with our burglary... and the insurance compensation. Were working on getting a lot of the crap replaced, and the other stuff we'll see... Yay, a new speaker box for me!

One ironic tidbit about the burgling is they stole "The Ten Commandments"

Ah, we have a new kitten running around:

We call it "the kitten" .... Of the 5 born its the only one that remains.. the others.. dont know what happened.. they just kinda disappeared. Perhaps they made a coyote or raccoon happy.

and on the 4th of July I slammed my toe into our concrete steps in back of the house while wearing flip flops(Choco flip flops.. I think that makes me cool). Apparently concrete can gouge open toes.

Oh I have a cool John Deere zippo now too! My .. well.. at the time my girlfriend, Amy, got it for me for Christmas, among other swell items such as my John Deere hat. We have since broken up but we're good friends. You know how it goes, she says I'm dumb, I say her face is a dumb, then I make her cry and she punches me in the face.. and I promptly apologize for being so mean... ya know, the usual.

And because of her, I have kinda gotten into Country music now.. Amy, I totally blame you... totally plus one. So now I'm all keen on the Toby Keith and what have you.

And most importantly boys and girls, lets all remember; a cargo light gives off a romantic glow.
