Tennesse is swell!

Its 10PM, and I'm sitting in a dark KOA on a laptop at a picnic table next to my truck and tent... Pete is gettin the wee grill goin so we can each have our 4th hotdog.. no fridge, cant let'm go to waste ya know. The noise of the freeway 300 feet away isnt exactly awsome but I can phase it out. The temp is around 75-80 or so and there is like maybe a 0.2 mph breeze... oh it just went to 0.4, that feels kinda nice. The tiny mosquitos that gave me 18+ bites when I was setting up my tent around twilight have gone away thankfully, and now i'm comfortably in shorts, thongs, and a tshirt without any annoyances.

We're in Manchester, Tennessee. Tennessee has got to be my favorite state so far.. Its a lot like Wester Washington but warmer and more cool crap. I could move here. Plus many many of the folk have the awsome dialect.

Alas, there are no fireflies. I'm way to late in the season for those. I was afraid of that. That is a life goal I must wait to fullfull another day.

Ah, hotdog is ready.

Okay.... uh.. Oh ya.. Its Wednesday night now and we got to this state on yesterday... Its the only state we've stayed more than one night in. We didnt plan to but its a freakin cool place. We went into Nashville Monday night. For a freaking big 'ol city it wasnt to bad.. We've driven trhough a few on the way here and they mostly all sucked.. super ghetto areas and just high crapfactors in much of the cities. Nashville I'm sure has its craptacular areas, but we drove around quite a bit and it all seemed pretty good for a city. .. Anyway, we got our ultra high dollar Super 8 room and after a short break we went into the Music strip or whatever its called.. I parked in a lonely parking lot.

Here is my super swell truck:

We walked by the Grand 'Ole Opre or somethin like that, the Hard Rock Cafe, and a bunch of other cool bars, venues, and restaraunts... even though I'm sure I spelled restoorawnt wrong. There were even some doods playin music on the street.. just like you see in the movies! They were actually good too. We eated our slop at a joint called Big River.

I had some kinda Jumolia pasta crap. It was pretty dang good. They brew all their own beer plus have a few standards such as Coors, Bud, etc.. I had their OktoberFest beer.. Now I'm nut a big beer guy, but this was pretty good.. Not super bitter or nasty in other ways. I was able to keep it down and almost actually enjoyed it.

Here's a blurry picture of some of the street.. sorry, I'm not very steady and had my exposure pretty high so I didnt have to use flash..

Lol, and we see this chick talkin with two dudes.. we both figure she's a hooker and were like.. WOW, a real live hooker!.. Super short skirt, strappy very high heels, and some small white shirt, I forget.. Thin, showin about as much leg as possible... Anyway, after a bit she walks over to us. I was gettin ready to say no, I dont need her to love me long time, when she hands us each a flier and tells us there's a big party at a bar near there.. College Tuesday was the reason for the party or somethin. The fliers she gave us would get us free admission.. lol.. interesting. I kinda wanted to go but we needed to head back.. ahh well.

Today we went to Ruby Falls.. and Jack Daniels Distillery.. Both very very cool, but I'll rant about them another time.. Here's a picture of the falls, moderatly deep under a mountain... found in the 1920s or so I think.

and here's a very dark and bit blury me

Note: sorry some of the images seem a little off.... like not uniformally scaled. I dont have photoshop on this computer and it makes me sad. the website I'm using to host them. has some basic tools that seem to really suck.

tommorrow were aimin fer Kentucky.
