Sometimes I forget about the mass comics ridiculousness and fandom that lies out there.

Most of the people I encounter who aren't old or cartoonists* themselves always cock their head and say "Who?" when I mention him.

(*Or old cartoonists!--Mort Sahl is the biggest sweetie and Mike Peters is the happiest guy on earth!)

You're swell!

You and the Wendy wanna hang-out (beer! I don't think you and I have EVER gotten drunk together--silly sXe) at all when I'm back in da ATL?

Don't get me wrong, I love this job and am seriously depressed that I can't work here any longer. Sometimes I get kinda anxious and bored going through boxes of someone else's junkmail, you know? "Why am I doing this? What kind of crazy saves 50 years of lay-z-boy brochures?!" Imagine what the storage looked like! (he saved some of his syndicate proofs--copies of strips that the company who sent out his strip to newspapers--in his secretary's garage! they're quite smelly)

But his work is phenominal!
