I hope that if any intelligent life did does or will exist that it did or will.
It would be pretty flappin' sad if they tried and we just didn't get the signal in time or we don't recognize it as a signal. It's funny that we're scanning for transmissions really. What do we expect? Some Mars version of Britney Spears? Three breasted barely legal teens? The age of consent is lower in some galaxies (wink, wink). It doesn't matter anyway. If they're not like humans then we'll naturally want to take whatever they have that we want and then kill them. I hope for their sake we never find them.
