Yea!
Even though this wonderous day is still 2 years off, the planning is well underway, and I am starting to get sticker shock. On the first of the month, I went into JC Penny's and picked up my first wedding gift. Well, I consider it my first wedding gift because it's the first wedding thing that I've received from anyone. This was my planner. I LOVE THIS THING! Omg. It has everything in it! A calculator (big help), a three hole punch that doesn't work that great...but still works, pouches, tips, all sorts of stuff is packed into this thing. Now true enough my friend Paula (Matron of Honor) was going to get me a planner that had all of this in it too...but hey! If I can just make out a registry, print it out, take it into JC Penny's and get one for free, I'd rather save that 20 for something else.
Ok, so during the planning stages of this day, I've stumbled on some of the worlds most fantastic ideas ever. Hehe, so I say, right? Ok, here's one idea that I had. Since I want the reception to be at the Adolphus Hotel in Downtown Dallas, and it is like this gorgeous 1910-ish looking place, very opulant and fancy...I thought to bring in a swing band for the music! Sweet, eh? I'm really into that idea. So, right now, I'm looking into the bands around my area, listening to sample music of theirs, and next, time to write or call around to get an idea for pricing...just for budgeting reasons. But so far, I'm learning that my fantasy wedding is going to be my ultimate death in finances. Yep, it's true. Now, I do realise that a marrage is more than a wedding. Yes, I'm not stupid. But this is one day that will be remembered for the rest of your life, and by George, I am only doing this once. If we divorce, that's it for me. Seems stubbourn, but that's just what I beleive. And really, I don't beleive in divorce, unless the circumstances are so extreme that the marrage just would be safer ended. But enough about that...I have to get back to cleaning my house up a bit before Paula gets here. Today we are going to the Bridal stores to look around. She'll try on some dresses, and I'll play with the veils. I'm sure I will take a ton of pictures...because I love to do that. Weee!
