Ship Tease: Bran Davies and Jane Drew

Jun 30, 2012 23:20

I was on FF a while ago and decided to look for The Dark Is Rising stories, specifically about Bran Davies and Jane Drew.  I remember reading Silver On the Tree, where Bran met Jane and I thought that it would develop into something.

[Spoiler (click to open)]
I remember that: Bran saved her from the afanc by calling her name.  Then he gave her a stone. [Pretty stone for a pretty girl].  He called her 'Jenny'.

Anyway, I decided to google it.  Then I came upon a post on tvtropes.org about The Dark is Rising.  I noted some tropes:

/*Bran: Jane Drew. Don't you think she's pretty, then?*/ - Bran thinks Jane is pretty.  Lesser ships have formed from this.

/*perhaps imply a future relationship for Jane and Bran*/ - Gah! My shipper heart.

/*Ship Tease*/ - An apt trope. Explains my shipper feels. Gah! If only it was canon and developed.

I repeat, if only it was canon and developed.

I was looking for some fanfics with Bran/Jane pairing but most of the pairings are for Bran/Will, and Bran/Will/Jane. (So I had my work cut out for me).

****************************************************************************************************************************

Here be fanfics:

1.) Title: Turn Again
Author: orphan_account
Summary: Jane Drew goes back to Wales, where she finds things she hadn't known were lost.

/*It left me feeling satisfied, knowing that Bran and Jane have a chance.*/ :)

2.) Title: Depths of Gold
Author: the Lady Katherine
Summary: A continuation of the hint of JaneBran subplot, set just after Silver on the Tree. Oneshot.

/*Be still my shipper heart.*/

3.) Title: Under 10 Seconds
Author: Wielder of paperclips
Summary: A lot of realization goes around in just a few seconds. Bran x Jane hints if you squint really really hard. Drabble for Lola.

/*Just the slight hint of Bran/Jane, the start of their potential relationship. If only it was a multi-chapter fic.*/
