“THE ALT COLLECTIVE”

Saturday June 27th @ The Face Bar, Reading
£4.00 Entry - 2pm - 11pm
Reading is a great town for live alternative music with its diverse range of student friendly pubs and one of the best venues in the country - The Face Bar, and as great as live music is; we thought that perhaps it might be a refreshing change to provide the alternative community with a first hand chance to attend a unique venue that has a strong diy ethos and an independent focus on fashion, zines, alternative clothing designers, make up artists, models and photographers.
The event will be held upstairs at The Face Bar - an extremely large space that will have hot food on sale throughout the day and will be used to showcase new designs and to see them bought to life by selected models and friends on a runway, to network and share a drink or two with fellow minded people, have your photos taken and have the exciting opportunity to purchase a range of clothing, shoes and accessories that you may never see on the high street! And all this will cost you just £4.00 entry for 9 hours of fun, socialising and networking. There will also be a private aftershow party from 11pm downstairs in the Face Bar.
We will also be donating proceeds to the S.O.P.H.I.E foundation.

We currently have 3 x photographer stations available that will be set up for full use on the day. And these photographers include:

FASHION / CATWALKS:
We are planning to put on 5 or 6 co-ordinated catwalks on the day. Ideally we would like each company to have between 5/6 models each showcasing their designs and our aim is to provide a variety of shows that can include anything from the Punk, Gothic, Rockabilly, Cyber, Steampunk, Metal, Gore/Horror Inspired genres.
So far the designers who will be showcasing their wares include:

For anyone interested VioletEyes will be giving a 90 minute private class to be held downstairs in a room at The Face Bar for up to 15 people. It is called tone and tease a beginner’s guide to bump and grind. Girls will need to attend in stockings, heels and gloves. For anyone interested in taking part in this class you should book your place through our Webshop at http://www.devolutionmagazine.co.uk/store/ - the cost for the 90mins will be £18.00 (This cost includes booking fees etc) - the class will take place between 2.30pm - 4.30pm on the day.
• VIOLETEYES BURLESQUE PERFORMANCE http://www.myspace.com/violeteyes_uk

For a bit of light entertainment we are thinking of adding a few more burlesque performers, maybe a comedian, possibly some talk / workshops on the day i.e., make up tutorials and the like. If you are a performer or have a special talent that you think would benefit this charity event then we would love to hear from you! Email us with your ideas!
So, if you are a designer that wants to take part in the fashion shows, a stall that would like a pitch for the day, a model that wants to take part in the catwalk, a make up artist or hair stylist who would like to lend a helping hand, a magazine or zine that would like to sell their merch and do a spot of self promotion, a photographer that would like to attend the event and capture the moments, a performer that would like to be involved or merely someone that would like to help out with the event whether it be muscle, promotion or ideas we would love to hear from YOU.
