Just for the future, incase this ever happens again (unlikely, but none the less...)
Let's say your friend is having a party. Because of the situation with groups of their friends not getting along with other groups of their friends, they want to try to make an open invitation so that "whoever responds first wins". Okay, not exactly "wins" but you get the idea. Now, let's say that one group hears about the party and responds immediately, before the other group even gets to hear about it. You are the other group. Your friend now finds themselves in an awkward situation. Do they tell you about the party, despite the fact that they now feel you are unable to come, to do they not tell you to try to spare your feelings for having to miss out?
So here's the question: DO YOU WANT THEM TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE PARTY, OR LEAVE YOU IN THE DARK?
This may never involve you (and for others it already has) but please respond anyway.
For the record, I'd rather you just not tell me.
