How was everyone's christmas? Mine wasn't to bad. I got clothing,
which is something I use... Problem is, they got me clothes I can't use
for what I need to use them for. My grandfather and his wife got me a
bunch of sweaters and what not. Don't get me wrong, they are very nice. I
just couldn't use them, for instance, to work in. I got no pants, so I'll
have to buy some, cause I need some more jeans for work. Not that I think
that would matter. As it stands, Cory returns to day school when school
starts back up. When that happens, I won't have a ride to work. So I'm
going to try to get a job at Family Video here on the east side. After
working at New Orlean's House, ANY job would be easy. It's not that my job
is "difficult," it's just that when at work, that's that I'm doing,
working. Whether it is doing prep work, or passing appetizers, I'm always
on my feet. And I work most of the night with hot ovens and deep fryers,
so I get burned A LOT.
Oh, back to Christmas... What else did I get? Oh yes. I got a
brown suede jacket from my grandfather, gloves, a beanie, and some kind of
fleece ear muffs. I also got some Jockey cologne, with a free sports bag.
What I'll do with the sports bag is beyond me, since I'm not an active
person. The cologne smells nice though. They also got me this game. It's
like pool, but you use golf balls and putters... Why they got me this is
beyond me. I don't even own a putter, let alone any other golf clubs... I
got a fleece throw (the thin, small blankets you curl up in), it's
comfortable, and nice around the apartment when its cold. I also got a
pair of flanel pajama pants, and a matching t-shirt, which I'm wearing
right now. VERY comfortable. My grandmother got me another pair, which are
red plaid, also VERY comfortable, as well as 2 Game Boy Advance games, and
socks, which I REALLY needed.
I was supposed to go see my mother today for Christmas, but with
last nights snow, my grandmother wanted to be home before it was dark, and
since my mother doesn't have a car, I wouldn't have been able to get home.
I can't have that. I have to be in to work tomorrow at 2pm. I hope Cory
remembers. Oh, my birthday was on the 17th. I'm now 23. Though it was just
like any other day. But it's been that way since I turned 18. If I go to
bed right now, I will be able to get 9 hours of sleep before I wake up for
work. HA! Right! Since I got this job, I have yet to get to sleep any
earlier than 6am. So I get about 7 hours of sleep per night. I complain
about it at work, but to be honest, I'm pretty good to go after 7 hours.
Not to mention that I have had the past 4 days off.
This work week is going to be hell... Well, 1 day of it. And now
that I think about it, it might not be THAT bad. My first saturday at New
Orlean's House, we had 1000 people in there. Everyone said that was going
to be hell. I didn't think it was all that hard now that I think back on
it. But on tuesday (New Years Eve), we are supposed to have more than that
in, and we will be working a lot later than 10pm. Me and Cory plan on
getting out of there as soon as possible though, and going out and
partying. I need to find some people that want to hang out with us. It
feels good to have money again. I just got paid friday. More than I expect
too. So that's good. Then this friday I get paid. I got $75 for my
birthday from my grandfather, I get a paycheck on January 3rd, and
sometime between January 1st and 4th I'll be getting a trust check. So
I'll have some good cash on hand.
Oh, another interesting comment about work. I work with a bunch of
mexicans, and none of them can seem to learn my name, so I told Jose (one
of the kitchen managers) to just give me a mexican name, so I am now Pablo
to everyone that works there... Well... Except when I'm wearing the Dork
beanie, then they just call me "Dork." But I'm going to start having
people call me Pablo on a regular basis.
So, I'm watching TV... MTV to be exact, and I've come to a
conclusion. If I EVER make it as a musician, I have to have P. Diddy, Ja
Rule, and Ludacris, and Mystical in my video. That would have to be the
most successful video you could put together. Cause it seems that every
video that gets air play has at least one of these people in it. Hell,
while we are at it, we might as well invite Jermane Dupree, and Timbaland.
Uh oh... an Avril video... GAWD DAMN SHE IS HAWT! I think it is a damn
shame that she is already married. I heard that on her birthday, she
rented a skating rink, and played hockey. This only makes me love her even
more.
Speaking of Avril, I met a girl named Brandi through Cory, and he
says that she looks like Avril. My thought? HELL YES! FYI, she's probably
reading this entry, and will probably make a comment... That is, if she
takes the time to read through this novel of a journal entry. It is
getting rather long, isn't it? Well, it's to be expected when it's been so
long since I've updated my journal. Speaking of updates, I hope Rebecca is
reading this, as she always gave me shit about updating my journal so
she'd have something to read. Hi Rebecca! Also, I don't know if Lynette
gets on LJ, and if she does, if she knows what my LJ username is, but if
she does, I'd like to say happy birthday to her (her birthday is the same
as mine).
I'm looking back at this entry, and I'm noticing that it bounces
back and forth between subjects a lot. Man I am disorganized. Oh, and for
the record, I didn't write this just moments before posting. I'm at the
apartment at the moment, and I dont have a good computer, let along cable
or a phone line, so I'm writing this in pico, in Linux, and if all goes
well, I'll be posting it later tonight, or perhaps tomorrow night
(Friday), when I go to Cory's fathers house... IF we go to Cory's fathers
house.
So how has my social life been? What social life? As it stands, I
spend all my time at work. When I'm not working, I'm at the apartment,
with no phone, so I have no way to get online. A social life outside the
internet? Well, again, no phone line, so I can't call anyone or anything.
Supposedly my ex, Megan, was supposed to be coming to town from PA, but
since I haven't been able to get online, I don't know if she's been here
and gone, if she's here right now, or if she'll be here in the near
future.
You know, I really hate all these new "The" bands. "The" Vines,
"The" Strokes, "The" Used, "The" Donnas... They can suck "THE" dick. It's
bad enough they all follow this bad name trend, but when do they all have
to be on this "we are a shitty band, and play shitty, shitty music" kick
as well? Seems like a bandwagon I would rather not be on myself. Speaking
of music, I get to go see a band that I wanted to see in June, but I was
in Michigan at the time. V-Mob at the Emerson.
Well, since I've made this journal entry this long already, I
think I'll add a lot more to it by doing one of those personal bios that
you see people doing from time to time. If you'd like to copy and paste
it, and use it yourself, you are more than welcome. This is not a copy of
someone elses, since I can't get online to copy someone's.

close up this journal entry. I'd like to say hello to all the people out

December 26th, 2002 - 9:31pm
Well, I woke up at 1pm, layed there a moment, hit the snooze
button, and ended up sleeping until 1:18pm. I got up, got dressed, got
everything together, and then layed back down until Cory got here. He got
here around 1:30pm. Went to work tired, and in a rather off mood. It
wasn't really a bad mood, just a blah kind of mood. Did some prep work,
and then around 5:15pm I asked Marco (the kitchen manager) how many people
we were expecting, and what section I would be passing in. He told me that
we were going to do about 200 people, but they were going to be training
Bobby to do passing. So I got to go home early.
So I called up Cory at about 5:20pm, and told him that I would be
off work at about 6-6:30pm, and asked him to come pick me up. He said that
he had to go pick up his sister, Sasha, and that he wouldn't be able to
pick me up till about 6:30-7pm. Well, Jose had me sweep the basement, sort
some tupperware shit, and take out some trash, which didn't take me long
at all, and then I was able to clock out. I went out, talked to Cory's
father Steven, a host at the restraunt, then ate. Cory didn't show up till
about 7:40pm. I wanted to go to the mall so I could pick up something for
my Game Boy Advance (I'm such a dork...), but Cory had made plans with
Sasha and Emily, so he just brought me straigh home. I came home, and
watched wrestling for a little while before I started writing this.
I hope to get to bed early tonight, cause Cory said that he was
asked to come into work at noon tomorrow, and he wanted to know if I
wanted to come in as well at that time. I think I might, just for a little
bit of extra cash. I also still need to take an aplication up to Family
Video. I want to get a job there so that I don't become unemployed again.
