Apartment hunting.

So.

Earlier this week, my friend Racheal informed my friend Karen and I that there were apartments available near Princeton that were rather affordable for the three of us to live in. We were all excited and have made appointments to see them today.

This morning we hit a wall. Karen already lives in an apartment, that we were hoping she could just break the lease on, with a small fee of course, and we could all move in together. Karen finally took a look at her lease and found out that she would have to pay something like 2000 dollars to break her lease (1350 of it they already have due to security deposit). This is way too much for some one our age to be giving up to some rental company that could give two shits about her. Sooo...she's going in today to tell them that she needs to move back home because her father is sick (which is true) and her ex-boyfriend who has gotten violent (verbally and physically) with her previously, knows where she lives and shows up randomly trying to get in (this was also true up until she changed her phone number about a month ago). We're hoping that this is enough to convince them to let her go move home, but my guess is they won't give a shit and they have a signed form to prove that she already knew that.

This being said, I'm going to look at a one bedroom tomorrow in Princeton. Its kind of expensive but I'd be saving on gas, as I could walk to work most days (assuming the weather doesn't suck royally). I can also have a cat, which is encouraging. I'm a little sad though because I really wanted to live with the girls, and it sucks that her lease costs so much to break. Eh. Great.
