I cannot beleive the morning I had. It was the biggest blonde moment of my life. Either that or my usually good navigation device in my head switched off for the day b/c I cannot tell you how lost I got myself today. I was suppose to pick up some supplies for my grandmother who is recovering from a broken hip. I'm given the address (which will mean something to my other Tucsonites) that it is in the center with the Community Food Bank on Country Club between 36th St. and Ajo. So of course, in my non-cafinated state, thought 'oh, I'll just go get on Country Club and follow it down.'
I can't tell you how wrong I was. B/c Tucson is one of the most naffed up cities around, instead of hitting Ajo, I hit Aviation Highway instead which is convient if you're trying to get from downtown to the East side and a pain in the ass any other way. So, first I turn down the wrong way and have to U-turn then I get on ALvernon Southbound for what reason I can't recal and land myself in the middle of the fucking industrial zone. On the plus side I found the salvage parts place I need to go to b/c I backed my Nana's car into another one and boned up the taillight. I land myself on this road that changes it's name every turn so for awhile I was on Swan, then Derinch, then I hit the highway. For the Tusconites, I was basically south of the Airport. So then I land on this other road where I figure if I follow it one way I'll eventually hit a road I recognize. I did, the highway. So I bypass it for another reason I can't recal and find myself on this other road that takes naffin ever and only purpose is to take you to the dumb. I was at the bloody landfil! So then I finally manage to get off it and onto another road. By this time the signs have ceased to be in English and I have to U-turn again 'cause I realize I'm on my way to fuck all nowhere.
I find myself on Valencia which, is for those who don't know, marks the edge of civilization and turned onto I-19 heading to Nogales. No-f'in-gales! So I have to U-turn off a highway by cutting though the gravel median. Luckly there is no curb. So then I finally find a road I recongize and from there get myself onto Ajo. From there I follow it to Country Club and the damn place I need to be which is right down from the Tucson Electric Ballpark.
SO in short, it took me an hour and a half to find a place that is fifteen minutes from my house.
Un-fucking-beleiveable.
