Nabbed from Eric
ericvids:
1. Leave me a comment saying you want to do the meme.
2. I'll respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. You should update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. You should include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be asked, you will ask them five questions. (You don't really have to do this, since I can't think of things to ask anyone at the moment, but if you want to, then, go ahead~)
Anyway, here're the questions I got from Eric.
1. Being a fellow science high-schooler, what's your most memorable geeky high school experience? :P
Geeky? Academic-wise or not? >_> Hm, lessee. I can't remember anything specific. I wasn't exactly a model Science high school student so---- o_o as far as academically geeky go - I guess those times when my classmates and I have a real good time solving and reading chemistry equations (H + 02 = H20, those kind. Don't ask me to solve/read them now though. x_X) and when I actually liked memorizing theorems, and, er, I forgot what the other is called. Great. -_-; Kel said it's postulates but it doesn't ring a bell. Lol. >_> Oh, well. x_x
Hm. Then there are times when I actually really enjoy going to Science fairs. Haha. XD But, I doubt it has something to do with the school.
Non-academic? Ee, One of them would prolly when I go with my guy friends to check on their senpai crushes. I know I have a purpose there, like a decoy or something. I forgot. -_- All I know is I kinda get dragged a lot. >_>
2. In your honest opinion, which Pokemon character are you, REALLY? >:) And why?
Honestly? >_> ... Psyduck. =_=; But not because of your reasons. x_x The first time this topic was brought up in Antarctica, I wanted to say Psyduck, because, well, I kinda like him. >_>; He's not your regular Pokemon, and you have to admit he's kinda cute and funny. >_>; I was about to say it but then someone joked about it and made fun of it so I decided to keep it to myself. ~(o\./o)~
3. Do you plan to do further keyboard study? I mean, you've been playing at gigs already! :)
I intend to self-study. It's one of my many plans, and hopefully not one that would just be forgotten. I really want to learn how to read notes properly. @_@ Also, my left hand definitely needs more practice, but, I don't know when I'll get the chance. (Right now, I'm more focusing on self-studying Japanese. X3) Also, since I've been able to play at gigs, I realized the importance of a decent piano/keyboard and not just having the cheap kind at home for practice. I intend to save up for that as well, but they're expensive ~ T_T so it'll definitely take a while. I'll prolly try playing every now and then during my free time, but I'm most likely to take it more seriously again when I get a better keyboard. (or get involved in another band? XD)
4. Tell us more about your art work. What's your ultimate goal in your career as an artist? :)
My Artwork. Hm. o_o I'm more into traditional art - pencils, paper, oil paint, canvas, that kind of stuff - rather than digital art, but that doesn't mean I don't make digital art either. They are just mediums after all. Some decide to use the pen, some decide to use the pen tablet, simple as that. I just feel like I'm able to express myself more and to control the outcome of my work better if I use mediums that I can actually touch.
I'm not into uber realistic representations. I like what my professor told us once, "If you're going to draw it like it's a photograph, then why don't you just take a picture?" XD Mind you, this was Anatomy class, and we're merely drawing random body parts. (Okay, we were drawing butts when he said that.) But it really hit me, and I was really glad he gave us that piece of advice.
I'm still trying to come over my shyness when it comes to my ideas. I tend to be conscious about it. When I present something that I poured a lot of emotions into, I feel like whoever's looking is actually seeing a part of me that I don't want everybody to see. Sometimes I don't want someone I know to see my work because of that. It's like staring at my work is staring and reading me. It can really make feel anxious and it would take some inner mind theater debate before I actually show my work to people. However, it's those kind of works that actually touch people, or get praises. (Not that I'm in it for the praises, but you know what I mean.) Plus, it is more fulfilling for me to start with an idea, and just let myself go as I work on it. I think I've managed to overcome the shyness, for the most part. But I still have to work on how to answer people when they ask me about my work on a personal level. XD (Especially when we're not that close. I kinda hate it. x_X)
My works, I think they vary, and they tend to be dark, may it be the mood, or the actual rendering. As my friends have put it, "Galit ako sa kulay." XD At least one of my professors have compared my rendering to Van Gogh (NOT that I'm as good, I believe. >_>) and/or would subtly categorize my works as Impressionism, Expressionism, or Dadaism. It flatters me, since those are my favorite styles/movements, but I don't really like categorizing myself or my works. I maybe inclined to a certain style right now, but that doesn't mean it won't change, or I won't try doing something else. That's what I'd like to think. Right now, I know I still have a lot to learn, especially in conceptualizing. I guess I'm still experimenting, figuring out my strengths and weaknesses. I'm sorry if this explanation doesn't really give you a feel of what my artworks are like or what I am like as an artist, haha. Eep. x_x
My ultimate goal as an artist? At this point, I'm not really sure. >_>; The dream I've always had is to be able to maintain a day-job (full-time, part-time, freelance, whichever) and to be able to paint and do art exhibits every now and then. I'd like to think I'm working on it now, but, heh, I admit I could be more diligent. I'm trying not to let anxiety get the best of me as I try to figure things out. XD
Hm. When it comes to painting and artworks though, I think my ultimate goal would be, to come up with a painting that is beautiful, both in concept and rendering, something that would be timeless. It's probably going to be one of those goals that would get higher once you reached it. It's not a bad thing, is it? It will just make you aim to do better and better everytime. X3
5. Eto malupit, which Honey & Clover character are you? :P (Uy tinamaan ng sandamukal na arrows of truth...)
AMPF KA. Well, this is, hard. >_>; Honestly, I feel like I can't pick. There are episodes when I can relate to Hagu, then there are episodes when I can relate to Yamada, or Morita, or Takemoto or, I think at some point, even Mayama. @_@ The entire animu is one big AXE of truth! X_x
But if I'm to choose, I guess it's Hagu, followed by Yamada or Takemoto. The points where I'm able to relate with Hagu are very specific, (and prolly more?) compared to the others. [Although I think I tend to act (on things) like Yamada.]
Haha. My answer for #4 is tl;dr, right? Right. (Eric you better read that. >:P)
