Strange coincidence pending verification
A mere two days ago, Fergus turned me on to this website called The Retroscope. It's an addictive site full of photo sets from the past on just about every subject imaginable. I browsed through a few sets, including these totally awesome pictures of a young Barack Obama, and concluded that this is definitely my kind of stuff.
So anyway, the point I'm getting to is that yesterday, there was a fresh collection of pictures posted on the site of people hanging out in video arcades in the 1980s. I clicked through because it looked interesting, but I seem to have bumped into my own family in this set; I am about 97% sure that the fifth picture down is of my dad, my brother (they're the two dark-haired ones, obv) and a few boys from our Sacramento neighborhood playing games at a Chuck E Cheese circa 1982. I emailed my dad to see if he can verify this and I haven't heard back yet, but I'm sure it's them. How crazy is that?
