I am posting from my new (temporary?) home in Beacon Falls, CT. I moved on Saturday, having miraculously shoved everything in our cars (Justin and mine), and dumping the rest of my crap on the curb. We were up to our eyeballs in boxes but they are now relegated, for the most part, in the closet or under the bed. Some have taken a liking to the couch and the rest are still in my trunk. Full unpacking is postponed til we decide if we are going to move into an apartment complex we liked in Wallingford. Two apts are available- one in Sept and one in Oct. It would be a better commute, have a WD, elevator, and dishwasher but the hassle of moving again is making the idea less inviting. Meanwhile I started a three day intense orientation for law review on Monday. UConn Law Review entails much more work than I was anticipating since they publish five journals a year and Albany only publishes like two. Basically every week I have the pleasure of taking an article written by a legal scholar and look at the sources they cite to, hunt them down and make sure everything is correct. This involves actually photocopying shit, ILLing (I had totaly forgotten about that undergraduate joy), editing, yada yada. I spent all day today working on one and am about half way through it. sigh. The plus side of this (and the only reason students fight like hell to get on law review) is that I have the opporunity to have something I write be published in the journal. However, there are added deadlines for that and I have to find an advisor, a topic, etc while also doing regular law review duties and oh yea, go to class and do homework for that too. This is going to be a fun semester. Last on my list is a job so I can actually pay for gas and books. I have an interview for a position in the school library, which will pay shit but at least is a job I should be able to do homework during.
At least everyone on my law review team (team Eagles) is super nice and sympathetic to my hyperventilating. And I'll know some people in my classes from law review so I won't be a complete odd ball.
Random other thoughts:
Commuting on 84 sucks cause CT drivers think they are NYC drivers- probably cause at one point they probably were/are.
Its amazing how many books & articles are on PDF form online- i cant imagine doing law review source checking without it!
I suck at all video games except for Doom for some reason.
Plastic colored sticky tabs are the best invention eva!
