Finally, some GOOD news!!!
One of the hardest parts of my decision to move to Jacksonville was the thought of losing my job. I've been here for just about 9 years now and starting over somewhere else just sounded like a nightmare.
I don't have to!!! My boss has asked me to stay on, working from home in Jax, and continue working on the conversion project I've been involved with over the last 2 years.
The "go-live" for the project is scheduled for May (and this time, we might actually make it! This is about the 5th date set...). At the end of the project, we will have to re-evaluate, based on what role I can fill that will benefit both me and the company.
We will also see if I can handle working from home for an extended period of time. I know that working from a home office requires a lot of discipline (and I'm not always the most disciplined of folk).
But for now, at least I don't have the worry of finding a new job and starting over. ~PHEW~
